Alright...

GPA:
3.85 UW according to GA College 411
4.354/5 Weighted
Top 2% of 530 kids

Standardized tests:
SAT total: 2030
630M (I know...) 680CR 720W
The math score is a bit low...this is my biggest concern
SAT Bio: 760
SAT USH: 720
5 AP Exams all 4's

Taking 10 AP's by the end of senior year
Only taken honors and AP classes

Extracurrix:
Volunteer with dogs, orphanage, etc
Key Club
Science Team
... that's it...

OH AND I'm FEMALE. Tech needs some of those.

Pretty good chances

Your SAT subject tests will not be considered, nor will your AP exams. (Tech explicitly states they don’t consider either.)
I’d say your courseload and GPA are great for Tech, and that your scores are good. Math is a bit low, as you stated, and your ECs may be a bit on the weak side depending on how intensively you participated in those activities, but overall, I’d say you’re looking pretty good for admission.

Your stats are good. If I could make one recommendation, I would tell you to retake the SAT. But you fit the tech description

You guys are being very, very generous with that Math SAT score.

^^ They really do need some females >.>

They need PRETTY females as well

Hahahhahahahahahahahaha.

Math really isn’t that low; I know plenty of people with math scores around that. You’re fine, you’re gonna get in, enjoy your senior year!!!

Beeeeeeeeeumppppppppppp.

And how many of them were reaches? How many with a higher score were rejected? How many were legacies?

The danger is being overly optimistic, as you seem to be, is that it creates a false sense of security. Someone thinks “hey, I’m in at Tech!” then doesn’t apply to safeties. Suddenly that student is rejected to Tech and has no safety net.

A 630 Math SAT score puts someone in the bottom 25th percentile in the second most important metric. A 3.85 GT GPA is slightly below average for admission. A 680 CR is between average and 75th percentile. A 710 Writing is very good, but that’s the lowest weighted portion of the application. What’s more concerning is that, while the OP doesn’t list all AP courses, I don’t see AP Calc.

To me, that sums up to a someone with a good shot, but by no means a certainty.

My AP course are:
AP Calc AB and BC
AP Physics C
APUSH, Euro, Human Geography, Microeconomics, Gov’t
AP Lit, Lang
AP Biology

@banjo hitter

She’s in dude. And a 3.83 is in the middle of the 50% that were accepted. And a 630 in Math will not keep her out. Under a 600, probably, but definitely not a 630…

HEY. SO, I got my ACT scores back and did poorly as expected EXCEPT I did ok math. I got a 33. Should I send my ACT scores even though the composite is horrible?

Doesn’t Tech “super-duper” score? So they would combine my 680CR, 720W, and 33M.

Would seeing the other low scores affect my chances of getting accepted?

What was the composite?

My composite wasn’t good at a 26 haha…When I was taking it I had in mind that I only needed to raise the math score for Tech since my SAT wasn’t strong enough, so I kind of BSed the rest.

On the website it says they only use the highest scores across the SAT and ACT in the evaluation process!

have you taken the ACT score any more times? And by the way, they only look at the english and math portions, so as long as your english is around a 27 or 28, you’re good.

How long have you been following Georgia Tech admissions? Because apparently you’ve looked at a website and now assume to be an expert. That sort of sophomoric approach to anything is not a good idea.

3.83 is below average and a 630 Math is very low.
