Yo, why hasnt anyone asked about some math problems I had trouble with?

There were two in particular:

One had consecutive negative integers or something and when two were divided the units place was 9

WHATEVER

The other was something involving p^2 + n^2 = 12

Am I the only one who had trouble with these?

1.) The first was 9, ___, 11 so the number for the second integer is 10 and the ones digit was zero.

2.) I put II only, but I don't remember the answers. I think it was p^2 - n^2? Not entirely sure, though.

they give you either the value of p-n or p+n - I forget. p^2 - n^2 is the same thing as (p-n)(p+n). let's assume that they gave p+n = 1. p-n must equal 12, because 1X12=12...so, add the two equations together. you get 2p=13, but that doesn't work because p and n are both integers. anyways, go ahead and try 2,6 and 3,4 and the only one that works is rom numeral II, which is "6" (p+n=6? or p-n=6) does that make sense?

actually, i didnt care what the answers were. I just wanted to know if it was experimental

AND OF COURSE IT ISNT

Aw, well why didn't you say so? You know how quick we freaks are in dissecting an SAT problem.

I need to know what the experimental sections were so I dont kill myself.

Lets see if I can name the ones I had

Writing section about Asian Americans coming together
?

I didn't get the writing section about Asian Americans, but I had I the giant passage on African wildlife conservation. I think it's experimental, but everyone else is going insane trying to figure which ones are.

THen I got a writing experimental

did anyone get one with two short passages- both about movies, today's generation, actors, and how they do more indy films? both passages used tom cruise in their examples.

WAS THAT the experimental!??! i wanted the cecil/babbes to be expt. ;(

Colleges look at your best scores, correct?

Yes, they look at the best scores.

And I didn't get anything about Tom Cruise. Though I would have rather gotten that than reading about wildlife conservation movements.

We talked about the P^2-n^2 thing to death in that 46+ page monster-thread. "Roman numeral II and III--no it was roman numeral I and III--no, wasn't it just II, or maybe it was III, IV--" Yeah, after all that debating, it was pretty much settled that it was just II.

Sorry, mate, but that's just the thing. I'm too much of a useless, lazy individual to sift through 46+ pages of debate. They get confusing and with each page my self-esteem crashes.

aw, i thought i did ok on that tom cruise one, too :( oh well.
