You and Deliberate Practice

Since this is CC, I'm guessing some (a few?) probably have heard about deliberate practice from Study Hacks, The Art of Nonconformity, the book Talent is Overrated, or someplace. Anyways, it's been talked about a lot. :P

Are any of you guys starting/have started your several thousand hours of deliberate practice to become great?

I have just started my DB for writing...
and been working on my DB for Japanese for a while (hopefully at least a thousand by now...) xD

I was just wondering! ^_^

I’m kind of in a void right now. I have a decent amount of experience with competition math from going to a summer program, going to math club, and going to local math competitions but for some reason it’s really hard for me to get started when I’m just doing things by myself. D: Maybe I’m just not cut out for it, or maybe it’s just that the jump from mid-AIME level problems to olympiad-level problems is pretty difficult.
