You applied to 2 EARLY DECISION schools?!!!

Can colleges check if an applicant has applied ED to two schools?

Is there a common system?

To apply ED you need a form signed by both your parents and your guidance counselor, to keep two applications to different schools. In our case the form is sent directly from the high school.

Well, I wouldn’t try it. Firstly, if you get admitted to both schools, you have a BIG problem, since you signed two legally binding contracts. If they find out, your admissions offers will be revoked. And your otherschools will hear about it too (I am not completely sure how this works, but you will be blacklisted by others too). Even if one of the two doesn’t admit you, the schools will probably still find out. Possibly through the common app.

Furthermore, your high school will sometimes be blacklisted too, so you will ruin the chances of other applicants.

People make this mistake every year. Don’t.

You are allowed to apply ED at one school, and EA at others (beware of SCEA’s at Yale and Stanford!) though.

For what reason? To prove to people that although you’re graduating HS, one still has no common sense? The GC would be an idiot to let that slip through, too.

Let’s not exaggerate: there’s nothing legally binding; ED is an honor system, with possible consequences.

Our HS was indeed blacklisted by a famous university for a few years due to this abuse. Adcoms do talk with each other. Don’t risk it.
