Just kidding, just kidding, just kidding!! Don't shoot me! ;)
I just wanted to pull a little shocker, thats all. :p

Quick question: Does anyone have the link where there's a list that shows which region in CA is read by which adcom? Like I thnk Mike Pichay reads bay area? Something like that, I swear I saw this list one time...

Question: Ybarra is MN’s admissions counselor, but Keene is the Native undergrad recruiter (and I have spoken with her quite a bit)…what affect do you think she had in the reading of my app?

ybarra was apparently pretty vicious toward my area. i know of at least 6 people who applied early; 5 outright rejections, 1 deferral, and these were for the most part pretty outstanding kids

ScaredAsHell, that could also mean that Stanford might still be needing to fill a “quota” for people from your area! Or at least they won’t rule you out just because they have
“too many from your area” already.

ScaredAsHell, Hugo Reyes-Centeno was the adcom who offered me admission via EA…LOL…By the way are from the O.C. Or Ohio? If the O.C., what city?

SAH: I know, and I do appreciate your answer, but you also did say, “Well seeing as she likes you, she probably fought for you during the admissions process. I don’t think her place is very high(seeing as both of you are native americans, the adcoms may take her race into consideration) but I think her opinion will definately influence the decision. Guess we’ll find out soon.” Lol. “seeing as both of you are Native Americans”…haha, really? I am sure at least 50% of the admissions counselors read and thus made decisions regarding applicants of “the same race”…that just made me chuckle :).

Im from the O.C. irvine. What about you Sal?

Dpatzz…I don’t understand your post. What are you trying to say? When you made that thread about the lady reading you app, people answered and I thought that was the end of it, so I made a comment about you asking the same question again. Just wait it out, decisions are over.

RSM, yeah that is true but the people who applied early were exceptional(one had some internship at some amazing Law Firm, another had a 2400 SAT,) so I’m pretty sure im screwed haha. Our school was the only school in our district to not get someone into Stanford early this year : /

HAHAHAHAHA there’s an admissions counselor named Hugo Reyes (and something else)? That is too funny. Go Hurley! Be nice to us!! We swear we are not the Others!!

Anyways, I’m just waiting for my rejection.

I mean parts of my application are super super good, but two numbers are going to keep me from getting in:

3.65 and 3.78.

It’s cuz our school has like four ap or honors classes in all, and each class is really difficult. Whatever I’m fine with it. Anyone else feelin hopeless? (and no, I’m not talking to 3.99ers)

Dkbear yeah but Stanford takes the school you are going to into consideration. My school offers like 10 APs but most of them are either art APs that have tons of prereqs OR other APs with the craziest reqs you can imagine. Other schools in my district don’t have all these crazy prereqs haha, so the kids at my school get owned.

Kate Shreve: I know you rejected me already, but that’s okay. I never expected to get in anyways, but I’m both pleased and honored that you’ve spent the time to read my app on behalf of Stanford.
