I'm mainly a science/math guy, though I'm pretty well rounded. What's bad is that my AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Calc, and AP Physics teachers ALL LEFT last year, so I have no teacher who i can really get a recommendation from. one of my recommendations will be from my latin teacher, but I can't decide who the other one should be from...

Chem: got in a big fight with science head. accepted a job at other private school in MA. With this teacher, I got 1st in state in the chem olympiad, but he was really bitter the last month or so...

Physics: switched teachers halfway through the year. first teacher liked me, but was a harsh grader, her english wasn't that good, and didn't know me very well. second teacher was a student teacher from princeton, and he only taught for a few months. he liked me, but also probably doesn't know me well enough to write a recommendation.

AP Bio: took in sophomore year.

AP Calc: teacher loved me, i got awesome grades, 5 on APs, top in class, etc. However, I played starcraft half the time, since the course was taught pretty slow since we had some less-than-stellar students in the class. I think he figured it out halfway through the year, and I remained one of his strongest students, but I'm worried he'll mention my playing computer games. I COULDNT HELP IT, THE CLASS WAS BORING AND WE WENT OVER EVERYTHIGN LIKE 4 TIMES!!!

no, i was a hard worker, did all my homework, got great grades, participated in class...

But he knew about my occasionally playing computer games whenever he spent an entire class reviewing the fundamental theorum of calculus. he was annoyed, of course...

I got a 99 in calc, 99 in chem (guy wouldnt give me a 100 cuz he was a bitter, bitter, person), 95 in physics, and 93 in bio.

nah; i lost half the time. I paused the game to answer questions, and the guy i was vsing on the other side of the room (everybody gets laptops in my school) kept restarting. And I was using a touchpad.

Who do you think I should ask to bear the burden of my recommendation?

Unless the calculus teacher was angry about your playing games, I would ask him. My son's math teacher knew he and another student wrote calculator programs and played chess during class, but he didn't care because they "got it" and were done with their work.

how are you going to get a rec from one of them when you said they all left?? Oh and I would go with the calc teacher. None of the others seem to really know you at all.

evanescenteuphoria-i go on massive financial aid to a rich private school. everybody gets laptops, and the campus has wifi. im so spoiled. =P

(actually, my chem teacher was the one who really knew me the best, and who I did the best with, but around the end he just got really angst-filled towards everybody. And my physics teacher (1st one) also knew me very well, but, theres the issue of her english.)

But, yeah, so the general consensus is calc?
