You Are Tiger Town Bound

@billg33 I looked at last year’s thread and there were several who received $7500 scholarships in the week or two before Christmas. So I think it will be at least another month but even then would be well in advance of February.

So these were ED kids with acceptance letters? My son just applied RD yesterday. Deadline is 12/1?

@chb088 No this is not ED kids, Clemson does not have an ED policy…those receiving acceptances now are high stat kids receiving scholarships. Those not in scholarship range who applied prior to 12/1 will likely be waiting until February. Those who apply after 12/1could be waiting until the bitter end on April 1.

A quick thank you to all current Clemson families for sharing their experiences. So helpful to know what might be coming!

@RelocatedYankee Happy to help! We’re local and many from our high school apply and attend Clemson so we’ve been watching patterns for years. My son is a freshman in the Honors College and my daughter is waiting for her lettter too!

Getting nervous that others are hearing and my D hasn’t. Application complete 10/13.

PA resident with 35ACT and 4.4W, 4.0UW top 10% I would have thought she would have been in the early acceptance group.

@burghdad did you get your mail already today? What is her intended major? I heard they are sent by major as well.

@mweb136 Didnt get mail yet. She was undecided.

@burghdad Don’t get nervous. Only a few have been sent out, really. Those are excellent stats, but from what I have seen, not all top kids like that get their letters early. It could be her major is highly competitive or that department hasn’t mailed letters yet or another reason we don’t know. OOS is tougher for sure, especially these past few years. When the rest of the letters go out Feb 15th, you realize just how few are mailed early.

Hurray! Daughter received the “You are Tigertown Bound” acceptance package today. She is delighted!!! OOS with $15,000 merit. She did apply to the College of Science and it sounds like that College has preceded others in years past.

congrats to you and your daughter @RelocatedYankee !

So despite the fact that my daughter got an email from Clemson on October 13 saying they had received the application and that no further documents needed to be provided, today she got and email that said her application was complete and all required documents had been received. Maybe her HS had not sent a transcript or something. Hopefully she will hear something soon as with her scores and grades she would qualify for the $15,000 merit money.

my daughter got the same email today despite the prior acknowledgement.

My son got the same email today and it was the first acknowledgement of his application being complete, although school confirmed everything was sent on 11/1.

@mweb136 - my daughter DID NOT apply to honors. We are OOS. I have not asked about any emails she has received as Clemson is not in her top 2 and she has been accepted into her top 2. But we are keeping all of our paperwork because you never know when her mind might change.

Woops- nevermind. Found the first email he received right after sending in his app. So overwhelmed with emails!

Just got our Tiger Bound packet today. I am trying hard to be patient until my son gets home from soccer practice :(( Thank you everyone for posting and sharing, I have been following this thread and it’s been extremely helpful. I wanted to post incase there are any west coast kids/parents waiting to hear.

Congrats. Do you mind posting stats?

@mamacat75 when did he get email that his application was complete and did he get oos money if you don’t mind me asking

@simple0920 his stats are as follows: He is in the top 10%of his class which is small 368 in his graduating class, his GPA is 3.9 weighted (he had a set back junior year and luckily that didn’t affect him getting in) after seeing all the high GPA’s I was really worried. 32 on the ACT. He is on varsity swim and soccer and captain of his soccer team. He is also student body president, NHS, ASB. Taken 7AP classes. His school doesn’t offer a ton of AP classes but he has taken all that he can minus two. @bughdad he never got an email that his application was complete. He got a confirmation that they received it and one that he still needed to send his scores and that was it. He applied October 6th. He got $15000 for merit. Hope this helps.
