<p>“note- I did extremely poor in high school but counselors told me after a certain amount of college work schools would not look at it anymore?” They are correct. Your high school GPA and work experience become irrelevant as you obtain college experience and credits so no worries there.</p>
<p>Your GPA is great. Just articulate your passion and goals in the essays. Explain why the school, why now, and what you plan to do with your degree. Let them see your path and tell a story. Since Cornell is Ivy league, I would think that it would be a reach in particular. Not sure how many transfers they accept. </p>
<p>Just present a well put together application package, have sincere, genuine people who know you well write the letter of recommendation for you and you should be good to go! GOOD LUCK!</p>
