Hello vikram!

It's awesome to see such enthusiasm from all the way in your sophomore year. You still have plenty of time to find yourself and think about college applications.

However, I've noticed you have created 3 threads with exactly the same content.... Don't do that :p

Can you imagine what would happen if everyone created 3 threads because they were impatient of getting responses? Instead, just bump your thread to the top if it falls behind the first 2 pages. Otherwise, people HAVE seen it. They're just not responding.......

Regarding the chance, here's what I think:

Your extra cirrics are a standard "laundry list." Find one or two you absolutely LOVE or even a disconnected hobby you absolutely love and go with it. For me, it was music and I did as much as I could musically and continue to do so. I also REALLY loved magic, and to this day regret not starting a performance service and going to parties/similar venues to perform. I just did not have time, and thus this still remains simply a "hobby."

Find something you LOVE doing, because everybody has it. Only you can answer this question, and only you can do something about it. If you like computers, start a business where you repair computers for people for a fee. Or if you like design, offer website designing or maybe even try to get a class started.

If there is one thing that IS consistent, it's the fact that colleges do NOT like laundry list ECs. Don't just get involved in a club (yes, even being president may not be enough), but go out of your way to DO something more for it if that's what you truly love. If you don't really like the club, then why in the world are you in it? It will just waste time from pursuing the one or two things you REALLY want.

So, in short, in the time you have left...... concentrate your efforts on 1-2 powerful ECs. You don't have to be super-human to do things different. Anyone can do this, just don't be lazy about it :)

Based off of your information, that's about all I can give you now. I can't tell you your chances because there is not enough information (class rank and SATs are just as important). If your 3.86 is weighted, you should work on an increase. So...... up the GPA, keep up the hard course work, prep well for the SATs, and take my advice on an EC. Then, you will definitely be in good shape.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out when two years form now, you get that decision envelope
