You could really make my day!

Okay, someone please help me to gauge my chances...
My name is Laura, and I'm an African American junior from NYC.
I go to a prestigious private school that doesn't offer any APs [it's pretentious, but stil...] . OH by the way, since I take two languages at my school, which is unusual (it was common at my old school) I have to switch off every year between science and history, but my college counselor said thats alright.
disclaime: I just a few minor details to obscure my identity. :)

How do I measure up?
If someone could give me a response, it would mean soooo much to me!
Oh, also, Harvard sent me a big packet with an application, and the week before they sent me a letter. I figured this was just junkmail and doesn't mean anything... am I right?
Thanks

hellllp!
....

pretty good shot, I'd say. You're right up there.
and by the by, I have no idea what the pakage from Harvard means. I'd say it's probably the standard thing they do for many people, but it could be unusual, who knows.

I agree, you should be a very competitive applicant if your essays and recommendations are as good as everything else.

the harvard packet is junkmail
your stats are solid and you've got some great ecs, add that to the fact that your a urm and I think you got a great chance at all your schools
good luck!

is the packet junkmail? that was my first reaction when I read that.

well, they send it to everyone who scores above a certain point on their psats or sats, or if you have ever contacted them or replied to anything that may be even remotely related to harvard, they send you something like that

ah.... that makes sense.

You should have a good shot. I think your Youth Across the World thing sounds very impressive, and i'm sure the adcoms will take note. Good luck!

I agree, I think u have a great chance at every college on ur list - good job and good luck!

Where did you end up going?
My D has similar stats.
