Just thought I would let everyone know that admitted students do get a scarf. I just got mine in the mail today :) I live in Chicago so I have no idea when you guys will get your scarves.

I live in NYC, was admitted on Nov 30, and have not (yet) received a scarf.

DS got his scarf today in Michigan! :)

Now I’m sad. I left this morning to visit U of C. My scarf is probably sitting on my porch as I type.

^^ Is this perk only for those EA admitted students? My DD has been waiting for three years, she is about to graduate, nothing from the college yet. :)

I live in New York, no scarf yet :)

I live in Canada. NO scarf. :(

wait… Is it only for Americans?

Hope not :(

Joy! D was just bemoaning the lack of the scarf yesterday. I will watch the mail today!

That is what she gets for applying before they upped the marketing budget. Thank you for paying tuition so our kids can have scarves… I am sure we will be paying the favor forward!

Scarf showed up today in PA. It’s really not that exciting.

As far as marketing goes, I think she thought the personal note from her admissions counselor after she was accepted was much more impressive.

^Do all accepted applicants get personal notes, or is your D just that awesome?

No note for my D… and no scarf today, but she is still hopeful.

I got a note. That was amazing. As for the scarf, I have no idea. I’m in Chicago now and my home is in PA. I’ll find out tomorrow though.

I got a note too! It was highly personal and actually made a reference to my “why UChicago” essay. No scarf yet in MD.

Do rd peeps get scarves?

Thanks a lot intparent.

For the 60K/year we are paying, I think they can do better than just a scarf, a winter sweat shirt will be more enticing. :)

got a note from mr. nondorf himself ;)

I don’t know why she got a note, ZombieDante, we think she is pretty awesome. It was from the regional admissions person, who commented on her essay topic. She had met this person before at her high school. Maybe only some of the adcoms do this.
