Lucky. When it works out, with the cost of the driving school and license it comes out to around 2000 euro. No way am I paying that when I can do it for much less in the US. Its so ridiculous.

I am baffled when it comes to car buying, as you have to have a job to get the cash, but have to have a car to get to your job. Did most of you all get them from your parents or something?

I'm getting my car from my parents- they don't expect me to have a job, well at the moment I can't have one, but when I go to college they expect me to study and not work.

I drive a bicycle. :(. my parents don't want me to drive. and i
m born in late november 1990 anyways so its a while before i can even begin the process of testing, permit, license, etc etc. rawrr!! but they said that once i mature, i
ll get my parents' 1993 ford taurus.

to whoever asked--the driving age is 16 in most states in the US.

and to whoever else asked--I am making the payments for my Magnum. If I get NM finalist, ($75k scholarship to OU), then my parents will buy me an 06 civic...which might seem spoiled, but $75,000-$22,000=$53,000. so they're not complaining.

sooners.brian im almost in the same situation as you are, except not quite as good. I'm hoping if I get NM my parents will get me some kind of car. I think the 06 civic Si looks nice...

I drive a '99 Toyota 4Runner. And I didn't have to pay for it, whomever asked. Mine was my 18th birthday present.

The previous owner was an old lady who really never drove it, so it has less than 37,000 miles. And it's so nice, leather seats and a 6-cd changer. I love it!

I have a job, but "my" car is actually one of my father's cars. I wouldn't have gotten one for myself, and they hate driving me around. He bought a used car, and it's under his name and technically his. But, he bought it for my use. No one else drives it. It worked well. :)

exrunner--yeah, the Civic Si does look sweet. the 2006 civic got car of the year award...my dad read that somewhere. I just want something safe, quality, and less flashy than my magnum...I just feel too 'teenage-boyish' driving it around.
