You got in.... So now what?

Hey CC!

This thread was intended to be a place for former students to share their advice for incoming students. What should we do to prepare ourselves?

Plan your revisit schedule, and if you have choices, consider seeing the top few. I know many, many kids who changed their minds after a revisit. Where the original school fell in the sequence of visits, how your interview went, who your guide was – that influenced how you felt.

Now you’re ready to imagine yourself there. It’s different! THink about what you want to know. Get to know these places without worrying about being judged.

Be sure to choose the school that you think would be the best fit for you and make you the happiest. Don’t just choose to attend a school because it is considered “good”. Make sure that you have your revisit days planned out and as @gardenstategal said, try to imagine yourself as a student at the school. I am a student at Berkshire so if anybody got accepted and wants to talk with me about the school feel free to pm me and I would be more than happy to answer any questions:)

The best part of revisits: You get to relax and enjoy yourself. Last time, you were likely nervous, trying to make a good impression, and hoping they’d like you. This time, they will be working hard to impress YOU, and hoping you choose THEM!

Oh wow this is awesome. This is hard to sink in that kid got accepted to so many good choices, we thought this was going to be a rough patch as our kid is ORM and last time it was pretty awful.

Do something worthwhile with your summer! The summer before I went to Exeter, I just sat around and watched netflix the whole time, and now I wish that I had gotten a job or volunteered somewhere or at least read a book.
