I'm in love with my essays especially the personal statement one for the common app. My english department loves them haha.

Great Recs:
1 from an english teacher who taught me both an honors and ap course
1 from an honors physics teacher

Phone interview went really well if that counts for anything but i really dont think it does haha.

My school is an extremely competitive all girls catholic high school on long island. Usually about 2 girls go to cornell every year, one of which is almost always early.

my personal opinion is that im going to be deferred early and then rejected regular. as much as i want cornell i just feel that the applicant pool is so competitive and i dont stand a chance.

i hate to be annoying about this but im really curious. what does everyone else think?

Your stats are very similar to mine (CALS-biological sciences) and I don’t think that I don’t stand a CHANCE… lol… just calm down, have enough confidence in yourself but don’t be too overconfident and see what happens… even though I’m freaking out a bit too haha

Your gpa is higher than mine, though my sat scores are higher than yours, and other than that we’re pretty balanced out in EC’s and stuff. I sent in one for CALS too - under animal science.. Eek! Im so nervous about myself.. you have pretty good stats, and the fact your GPA is so high is nice If your essays are as good as you said they were, and recs were great, i dont see why you wont get in. and a good phone interview might have helped, too! good luck!

2 adcoms (1 even from engineering) told me that since CALS is the only college that recommends SATII’s and does not require them, they can only help your app., not hurt it

yea, you can take some classics classes if yur in cals, but i believe eventually you have to pay for them, which isn’t a big deal, but still it limits things for some people. and it wouldn’t be a real minor, there is no such thing as a classics minor/concentration. anyhow, if you’re undecided, just internally transfer to cas when yur a frosh and become a classics major! :D

Seriously I hate you so much, stop asking about chance threads cuz it DOESNT MATTER! Everyone can say you will get rejected but u can get accepted or vice versa.. I rly find ppl with chance threads annoying. and pointless
