We could all be class mates next year

SUP!

We could all be class mates next year

SUP!

there is like maybe 4 people on the Bowdoin thread that talk a lot other than that. nothing really
i am just trying to pass the days for the next three weeks. I am honestly kinda burned out on school right now...and low and behold. i just got slammed with essays and projects
but at least that will keep my mind off application stuff

i really can't wait until ski season starts. i am really wanting to get up on the snow again. i need a break from mountain biking. plus I am a wway better skier than i am a biker
been unicycle a lot too...up in the mountains. taken some pretty hard falls and now have some nice scars on my shins

as for this fall in general....
my year started out pretty bad. I got my appendix taken out 2 days before school in minneapolis. (i was coming home after being gone for a month) missed the first week of school. so that wasnt the best start to the year. it got better after that and honestly it feels like this fall has gone by really darn fast. not too sure why

how are your falls going?

^Appendectomy five!

Ouch. That's tough. zfox, my twin brother and you might hit it off--he's a mountain biker and a skier, depending on the season.

Do you all generally like senior year, or is it just exhaustively crazy for you, too?

(I'm applying to Bowdoin and everywhere else RD--don't shun me...)

I hate senior year. Like it could have been so much easier but i had to go and take Social Science research..what a drag....not supposed to be pulling all nighthers this year..

the ummmmm....space where my appendix used to be feels really great now. I feel way better than I did all summer. I am pretty sure that my appendix had slowly been swelling for a long time....cause i felt pretty bad for quite some time beforehand.

But ya...skiing and mountian biking are pretty similar.....hucking your carcass down a hill at probably stupid speeds. Its the adrenaline from it all...adrenaline junkies will find something to do every time of the year.

senior year feels sooooo monotonous to me. I seriously feel like it is just day in and day out the same stuff. over and over and over.....and over
we are accepting here on the Bowdoin boards....no shunning to anyone...unless you are being a jackass....which you are not

my year is about to cool down....after xmas break i think that most of my classes will get pretty easy and i wont be stressed....no apps to finish either.

so i saw James Bond the other day...and I really gotta say...i was kinda dissapointed. I was really hoping for some just cool fight scene but instead they had to do all the crap with the camera so i felt like i was going to puke....i had no idea what was going on because the dang camera would stop moving. you just gotta love old time fight scenes where the camera was still and two guys just went at it...like kung fu style and whatnot

you already did all your apps? how many schools are you applying to?

i was actually disappointed with "quantum of solace" too :(
"casino royale" was a lot better!

but...
accepted to...
missouri state--full tuition
truman state--full tuition.

it looks like i'll be at truman if bowdoin doesn't work out :(

our wait will soon be over, guys :)

i got into Tulane already
the honors college and with $24000 a year which I think is pretty exciting
I am apply to like 10 schools i think and I am no where near done with all my apps
then again...i will probably recycle my essays and make them specific to each school by tweaking them
and luckily most of the schools are commonapp

Tweaking essays so that I don't have to do such insane amounts of work...that's pretty much all I've been doing over Thanksgiving. Fun times.

I was dumb and decided to apply everywhere RD, since none of my schools have EA, so now I have a really long/daunting wait before I find out if/where I get accepted. :( So irritating. I just want to know now!

I'll talk to you guys. I'm new, as you have probably guessed. I applied ED to Bowdoin and I'm from washington State

Oh cool a Washingtonian....haha
we share a boarder....i know right...pretty sweet stuff. Where in washington?
cause i really like the seattle area!!!
we almost moved there at one point actually
and the orchestra i play in went up there last year and we are going again this year. pretty exciting stuff

Just needed to say this....tonight has been a glorious night for the Bowdoin boards. we have had tons of posts and chit chat all night
way to go guys!!
lets show those ivy league wishers who's superior~!!

zfox, what do you play in orchestra? I'm a violinist. :)

And Isabelle, my cousins are from Washington State--Seattle, actually. One of them's at the Univ of Rochester and he came to our house for Thanksgiving this year. Seattle's awesome.

yeah, I'm from Seattle. I go to school on Capital Hill if you know where that is. I'm so nervous about the letter from Bowdoin, I almost considered writing a sign on my mailbox that says "if it's a small letter from Bowdoin College, don't bother. keep it." but then I would never find out if i got deferred or rejected...or if they give you small acceptance letters.

I play the violin and and viola
In orchestra I play violin though because we seem to be the only place in the world with an overabundance of violists...haha

hi guys
i'm from Los Angeles ish
Did you guys get a chance to visit? I know and love Bowdoin from research alone. My parents want me to finish all apps before winter vacation so we can visit Maine, but iiiiiiit's not gonna happen. I"m working on the supp essay right now and it's pathetic

anyway :]

Hey guys! I wanna get in on this discussion! I play violin too! I'm the concertmaster at my school in Alabama. I am applying to Bowdoin ED II.
I cannot seem to start the supplemental essay! I'm waiting for it to just hit me I guess.
And I have 5 other apps to do. I had no idea this would all be this crazy and stressful.
All of my classmates have been accepted to dumb universities and know where they are going. They think I'm crazy. I can't wait to go to Bowdoin with all of you guys...maybe! Then I can have friends and people won't ridicule me all the time. insert sad face.

haha dumb universities. Well, i guess we have that at my school too. I know exactly what you mean. I really want to go to Bowdoin where everyone is crazy smart and basically nerdy...in a good way of course!

zfox - I got the same offer from Tulane! I'd muchhhh rather go to Bowdoin though. To be honest, I like Tulane but it's my least favorite of all the schools I'm applying to. But I must admit...the money is pretty tempting, for my parents especially.

You mentioned getting accepted at Truman State with full tuition. How do you already know you got full tuition? I thought they made those decisions later -- or wasn't it one of the competitive scholarships? Just curious how that worked there because I interpreted it differently.
