You guys (or girls) Dream Car?

I wasn't trying to be offensive. I feel that way myself. I was just wondering because I would feel much, much worse in a BMW or a Mercedes...
I always had my heart set on a BMW, but decided it would be silly to ask for one at my age. I should earn it.

I hope to one day be rich enough to be able to purchase this sexy machine for my parents :)

don't we all hope for that? haha, i wish you the best of luck

I know you weren't trying to be offensive. I just wanted to point out I'm not a spoiled little punk. One day I too hope to own a BMW.

Nah, I've longed for a car for a really long time now . . . while other people get rides after Extracirrucular activities, I always have to get a ride from someone willing to take me or walk a couple miles with my heavy bookbag to my house or take a bus or something. My parents hate to drive anywhere thats not on "their way" . . and then sometimes I have to wait up to an hour for a ride, making me not do a lot of ECs if I don't have to . .

but boognish, you sound like a friend of mine, she also drives a 2001 Honda CR-V, always reminding us to be humble and stuff

but hey, look at this kid, he got a SL-500, and

That's funny.

I would like an Aston Martin Vantage.

and a pimped out escalade and a bentley continental :D

lol and a yacht and a jet and a.... (list goes on)

BMW Convertible. It's a family tradition, everyone in my family owns one...except for me. :(

Prius is...lacking a little in the aesthetic department, eh?

I don't care how my car looks, I want to save my money on gas because I have to drive down to South Carolina from Pennsylvania for college. Plus, the interior of it is comfortable enough and nice looking to me. My boyfriend thinks that they look fine as well.

good choice, NintyFresh

wow guys, this is really kinda cool, so i'm driving back to my house and the person in front of me is going really slow so we start examining the back, and realized it's a BMW X3!. . . made me think of this thread . . it makes a person look so much classier

2006 red MINI Cooper! And they're only 20K.

I also love the Rolls Royce Corniche, but I doubt I'll ever be able to buy that without breaking a sweat.

For now, I'll have to settle with my two Camrys (of the same color, too).

scarletleavy, Maybach is the luxury segment of mercedes...waay better than the S-class.

I know the Maybach and someone who has one. I'm not such a fan of it.

haha, you guys sound so silly. I always feel bad that I am driving around in a 2001 Honda CR-V while there are grown adults with families and lives that can't afford anything near that.
Do you guys feel silly? an 18-year-old driving in a car that could pay for 4-year-tuition in an elite college....while there are great students who can't even imagine attending an expensive college?

Don't get me wrong, I am in an upper-middle-class family, but i would feel extra guilty if i flaunted money like that. I would feel like a spoiled young punk.

My opinion might be biased because I just got my 530i a few days ago but personally I don't agree with your point of view.

What is exactly the purpose of money? It is used to buy us happiness. Whether we are ultimately happy or not depends on many other factors as well but more often than not, affluence can bring us a better life. And that is exactly why so many people work so hard to gain money and that is exactly why so many of us want to get into Harvard or Princeton.

And after we, our family rather, finally have the money to buy the things we have always wanted, should we not spend it just because there are people less fortunate than us in this world? Yes there are those who would love to have a Honda. But if we put the same logic behind every decision we make, you will see how ridiculous it is. Why go to an ivy league when others can't even pay for cc. Why don't we go to a cc for 2 years then transfer to a state university? Why live in an apartment when there are those living in trailers? Why eat at taco bell when others are starving on the streets?

I admit I might not be a very magnanimous fellow but I believe my dad has already paid his share to society by paying close to 50% in tax every year. Of course he could donate more to charities but then doesn't money lose its meaning? I think you have seen how an utopia where everyone is equal has turned out. People will lose their motive to be competitive and the world will be marching backwards.

So what do we do if we don't give our money away? Just let it sit and rot? Why don't we spend it? By pocessing certain luxuries some people haven't experienced in their forties, I happen to know how priviledged it is to have no money problems. And as a result, I am more motivated to try harder when I grow up to earn as much or even more than what my dad does.

To be random, I just want to mention how annoying that Toyota's "I want my MPG" song is.

People who earned the money deserve to spend it any way they want. I also believe that the progressive tax system is very unfair.

Hopefully I can roll in an Audi A6 when I'm 23-24. My goal is end up with a BMW 7 series in my 30s.

I am not telling people how to spend their money...I am not an extremist. I am obviously not stating my stance clearly, so I will give up.
I didn't even say something extreme...I was speculating. I said that I, an 18-year-old student with no career, would feel silly driving a 130, 000 dollar car. I am so sorry that this outraged you, Sympathy, to the point of writing a very defensive and lengthy response.
