Hey guys my friends wanted to ask if he can get into Georgetown universities: Walsh school of foreign Service

He is Italian born, roman catholic, been in USA for 6 years. He is considered international student i think.

GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1960
EC's: Varsity Football 1 year, 2 years track (Varsity), 3 years soccer (2 year Varsity).
Currently pursuing IB diploma, took a total of 16 IB Classes.
HE has really good recommendation letters.

Hmm…the GPA and SAT is pretty low, and ECs are just sports? Nothing else? Sorry, but without more details he wouldn’t really stand out from any of the other applicants…

Sorry the GPA and the SAT will kill his chances… especially if he’s applying for SFS. Also check out Georgetown’s website for the SAT ranges. I would recommend he apply to Georgetown College (if he hasn’t already) and try transferring to SFS in his freshman year if he really wants to go to Georgetown. If you browse through this year’s Georgetown early round stats, you’ll see how it’s been incredibly competitive this year.
