So today, I got the info in the mail that says who my roommate is gonna be. I facebook him, and after several searches, I finally track him down (his name has 4 parts). I add him as a friend, and I also send him a message that tells him that I am his roommate.

So all went well, right? WRONG!. The first peculiar thing I notice was that this guy already has over 100 friends on facebook who are on the UCSC network. This seems odd to me, since technically he isn't attending yet. So, I check his UCSC email address listed on his facebook profile with the UCSC email address provided to me by UCSC, and sure enough, they are different people! This was one awkward way to start the college 'journey'.

if you don't care then don't read it...
there are a LOT of threads on this forum, are they all supposed to pertain to you?

but I wouldn't worry about it too much, let the first person know what happened and then forget about it. it's easy to get things mixed up like that on facebook.
