Every single word (ok about 95%) was in barrons 3500 word list. ALl versions of the test included. I think its THE best in vocab preparation (it even had apropos :)). So if you have time and need help in vocab STUDY that list and study ALL of it. i did it in 20 days (worked at it 5 pages / day).

damn, i see you EVERYWHERE on cc!

Man, I need to get ahold of that list.

(Unless I'm not retaking, in which case I would blissfully throw away all my vocabulary studying materials.)

the list is online--you just have to search for it

Yeah, I found this link: http://www.postech.ac.kr/~gla/gre/

I'm gonna download it from school in case it's a messed up file.

it's not a messed up file.

get the pdf version. lol

haha all right.

But I can't decide if I'm still studying vocab or not.

Cooooool. It's 86 freaking pages though.

if you notice, all of the words grouped together have sorta the same meaning.

I actually studied off the blue book - I just wrote down the words I didnt know and memorised them.
I memorised 3/4 of the words from the blue book and only 1 came up in the oct test- pugnacious.

Yeah, that sucks.

all the words come from dictionary.com's word of the day. 2000-2004

Trust me everyone. Barrons 3500 words is the best thing that i ever have done. There are only a few words on the oct. test that weren't there (egalatarian or w/e it is and streamlining).

barrons 3500 rules. memorizing the list (particularly as international) is a pain and probably the most stupefying thing you'll ever have done (like constantly hitting your head against the wall), but it pays off.

knew 90% of the vocab on the october test. the rest was narrowing down.

Why does it say 4,842?

That IS the 3500 word list, right?

Hmm, 86 pages. Each page has like 60 words...

That's like 5000 words...

haha, I was wondering about that, too.

or you could use TI-DICT...

The barrons list is like a dictionary , its too long. I studied vocabulary words off Sparknotes 1000 list and all the words on the Oct14 test were from the list. If you've got less time, you can study the Sparknotes list. I scored 750 btw. Giving it again this December to get my Writing up.
