I think you have great chances to get into a bunch of these colleges. However, your ec’s don’t seem particularly focused aside from the fencing.
And the Mensa member thingy…don’t put that on your app…colleges will be able to tell if you’re just padding your resume. If you’re going to, make sure you contribute a lot to your club next year. Colleges don’t care about the amount of memberships, but rather what you do in them.

What, no ECs?

And I wouldn’t put the Mensa membership on your application, it’s not a very selective group, nor does it really do much except play word games [at least the ones in my area].

Ok…so decent GPA…good SAT’s. The top four schools on your list are gonna be a little bit of a reach. However…if you could write great essays and tie in all your EC’s together with a strong essay, then I think you may well get into most of these schools.
Good Luck!
chance me back, Thanks.

From the perspective of a parent of a recruited fencer:

Your reaches become matches if you get the coaches support. As a “B” rated fencer the coaches probably won’t be calling you, but there is still a good likliehood you can be supported if you are proactive.

If you haven’t already done so, go to the team web sites for the schools with fencing, and check out each team’s roster to see which schools will be over or under stocked in your weapon. Focus on the teams that are weak in your weapon. Email the coaches a short resume summarizing your academic and athletic achievements. Don’t bother telling the coaches about chess or Mensa or any of that; they won’t care. All they will care about is if they could use you on the team and if your grades and test scores meet a certain threshold.

As for the UC’s, check out UCSD. It’s a great school in a nice place, and it isn’t too tough to get recruited there.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Really appreciate it.

c’mon y’all, you can do better than 5
