^^^ haha. did you actually follow her orders or did you start shaving early?

i shaved early =)
i was quite the “rebel” hahaha

Yup. You really lived on the EDGE. haha

Shaving is annoying though.

So I really am curious about this and I’m way too lazy to just google my question …

Why DON’T all of our Asian mothers have leg hair? My mom wasn’t too excited about me shaving my legs because she was like “it’ll all fall out eventually if you don’t shave” and she definitely has NO leg hair, my friend’s mom won’t let my friend shave because she’s convinced that something magical happens the second you turn 18 that results in perfectly smooth legs for the rest of your life, your mom as you stated has no leg hair because of … pregnancy … ?

What is going onnnnn x_____x;;

HAHAH I never knew people were interested in shaving so much XD

I tried to talk my mom into the waxing thing too. Apparently, according to her, they ALSO make your leg hair coarser. Sigh. XD

“my friend’s mom won’t let my friend shave because she’s convinced that something magical happens the second you turn 18 that results in perfectly smooth legs for the rest of your life”

^ I think your friend’s mom and my mom should talk. 18 is better than god knows when i’ll get pregnant (never?)

“Rofl, just shave your legs. What are they going to do, beat you?”

^ she yelled at me. XD

I had to beg my DAD to let me shave. I’m Indian so I had… err, visible leg hairs.
My dad insisted on enrolling me in swim lessons, even though I had to wear a swim suit. Trust me, it was not a pretty sight. I’m still bitter about the fact that I had to wear a swim suit. shivers
He didn’t let me shave until the end of 7th grade, when my mom convinced him!

OP, try convincing the other parent. It worked for me! :D

Yelling? Oh, so that’s what you are up against… :P

Lol I feel your pain.
I didn’t get my mustached shaved til beginning of sophomore year (I had peach fuzz before but black hair stands out). I just did it (without permission).
Just do it

My parents were a little bit more relaxed than other Asian parents on shaving my beard and stuff (being Indian). But, they are a b*tch when it comes to grades, they get upset even when I get a A-. WOW!

mannn, my dad didn’t let me shave until i had the idea of coming home crying from gym class.
i’m sikh and the hair thing is religious so he was super uptight about it.
i told him that the other kids were making fun of me. haha.
:]] try crying? lol.

People…grow a pair.

People that have grown a pair typically don’t shave their legs.

You my friend, are being sexist ;)

No, it’s just a societal observation.

My gym teacher who graduated from Duke shaves his legs :]

lol my mom wants me to wax my legs. I’m an indian guy. so lol i guess im in the opposite situation as the OP.

haha, i feel your pain.
but actually my mom didn’t care about shaving, but she told me i looked like a ghost when i first started putting on makeup, but that’s okay:)
AND YES, every time i ask her if i can do something, she says, if everyone jumps off a building, would you. or like, who and who’s daugher/son goes to havard/yale/MIT/stanford, are you? if you are , then i’ll get it for you highschool graduation.

^ yeah… today my mom was listening to npr and apparently there was this section on a korean private school and how they have the most number of people who get into the ivies.
so she was like you need to do more. you are “nowhere”. And when she says that she conveniently forgets that I have one of the highest gpa’s in my class…

gotta love asian parents. :/

um, just shave your legs. what’s she gonna do, feel them for hair? she’s sorta…creeepy. like why does she give a s*** about how much hair is on your legs???

p.s.-try Nair. the hair won’t grow back as fast (or as coarse)

this reminds me…i need to shave…

**** asian parents.

My parents won’t let me lift weights, because they think that I won’t grow tall if I do. I’m already 6’1". It’s not possible for me to not grow tall.

They also won’t let me shave. If I bought razors they would find out and give me a talk that somehow relates shaving to grades. To avoid that…scissors. It’s true.

I usually say I’m going out with friends whenever I hang out with my girlfriend. This one I’m actually pretty nervous about, because I’m sure they’ll find out sooner or later.
