You know you're a CCer if...

wait... I've got one...

You know you're a CCer if you finally just set the site to your homepage because you didn't want to waste time getting there.

(girl had asked me about a university I had been accepted to…it’s just a public, though)
silence ensues

Welcome to…Obvious-land!! :D

I quote anecdotes from CCers’ lives.

…if you get into fights with your non-CC friends who think you’re taking college admins too seriously. “Oh you only need unique ECs…”

GONNAHAVETOCHOKEA-----

…if you’re a freshman whose thinking about college.

When you’re talking to your guidance counselor and tell her that you heard about something on CC and she asks you whats CC?

I go to a public high school thats in one of the best counties in my state and has over 3000 students.

You know you’re a CCer when you know the workings of the forum so well you can change them.

random, red-orangey color for 12 seconds

1.) when you check your e-mail every 10 to 20 minutes your on the internet: Yes

2.)you start to feel bad for having a gpa of 3.4 to 3.8 when most people in your school would die to have that gpa: Nope, but I do feel bad for having a 4.0 (our scale goes up to 4.3)

3.) when at the age of 2, you knew exactly what college you were going to attend and what you were going to be: nope, it was harvard. Now I don’t aim that high.

4.) when you know so much about college admissions that you can give a counseling prep course to *even[i/] your guidance counselors: yup

5.) when your parents start nagging you for being on the internet too much. You tell them that your looking at college admissions. They start getting worried about you because you’re either 1.) not even in high school or 2.) only a 9th or 10th grader: yup

6.) when you discover CC is hurting your chances for college than helping them because you’re starting to neglect your schoolwork and staying up later in the night to visit the boards: I blocked this site parental control style. I shouldn’t be on right now. Wow, I’m sad.

7.) when during the school year you wake up earlier in the morning or even risk arriving late for school to check CC boards: sadly no, I sleep too late for this

8.) when your afraid to tell anyone at school or home that your obsessed with a college internet forum because they may think you have no life: yup, but I do tell people

9.) when you start being competitive with not the people your in school with but those at CC who you don’t even know: Me. My level of competitiveness has been going up every week for about a year now…it went from “oh, score 90 on the AMC” to “make NFL nationals, make USABO and USNCO nationals, USAMO, selfstudy 5 aps”

10.) when you almost regret the day you found CC because now it’s taking overr your life. AHHHHHHHHH: YEEES.

11.) when you plan out your entire high school career, from what classes you’ll take, what clubs you’ll join, etc: Wasted so much time doing this

12.) when you’re trying to *create[i/] your “passion”: many times over

13.) when your more social and open on an anonymous internet forum with strangers than in real life.: yup

14) when you have to take long periods of break from CC because you think you’re become too addicted to it: see above

15) when you start wishing you could meet some of the CC users in real life: yes

16.) when only at CC your proud to say that you’re a math fanatic or a science buff or a prolific writer because you know that a lot of us envy you for have a hobby that will make a big impact in college admission: yes

17.) when in real life your friends are talking about prestigious colleges and you say, " I know some people who got into MIT/ Stanford/ Harvard." Yah, sure, you do, from CC, of course: kind of

18) You know you’re a CCer if you spend more time on the forums than facebook.

wow this forum is intimidating lol

my usual forum is much less…busy :P
