I love these threads. I know somebody who did two of these, even though she was in 4 AP classes. You’d be surprised which.

[]If you’re smart, but get bad grades because you don’t put in effort.
[]If your community college is a reach.
[]If you go to a community college simply because it’s easier.
[]If your GPA is good, but only because you take all the same classes as a friend, then make sure to sit behind him to cheat.
[]If you can spell words with your grades. (maybe you can’t, because you need vowels to spell words and the letters “f”, “d” and “c” aren’t vowels)
[]If you envy someone in the top 90% of your class.
[]If you don’t show up to school for a week claiming to be sick, but show up to sports practice after school.
[]If you stay up to 3:00 AM when there’s a regents exam the next day posting on CC (might happen to me if I’m not careful tonight).
[]If you don’t graduate with 90% of the class - because you didn’t take the state-mandated health class.
[]If your composite score on all 3 sections of the SAT is less than the score of many CCers on the math section.

“If your composite score on all 3 sections of the SAT is less than the score of many CCers on the math section.”

hahahahahah i know this one girl…

if you know all the material on a test but don’t get the right answer’s because you “didnt feel like trying.” WHAT THE F**K KIND OF EXCUSE IS THAT.

if you do bad on a test and you claim the only reason is because the teacher is racist against Asians (my friends totally said this once)

I love this thread.

…if, instead of chuckling at the aforementioned statements, you relay them to your actual life.

I did bad on a grammar test :/

^no. U did badLY.

^lol :D

You get a C in a math class where 25% of your grade is just doing the homework, 25% is quizzes that you can retake 3x each (6 problems), and tests that the lowest you can get on a test is a 50% because you get 1/2 just for doing work…

All from personal experience as a second semester senior:

-You have a study hall with your English teacher and you sit and talk to him about rock music instead of getting your homework done that’s due in his class next block.

-You actually have 2 study halls, and the other one is for sipping hot tea in the library and chatting with your friend.

-You’ve maintained an A for the year in Psychology because you borrow your friends’ vocab notes and memorize them 5 minutes before each quiz.

-You’ve convinced yourself that your time surfing wikipedia, youtube, and cracked is actually extensive research on history, ethics, sociology, etc.

Wow, how much more do I have to spell things out?

If you are satisfied with a 2200 or lower sat score
If you think All A’S and a b or 2 is good enough for Harvard
If you think that colleges don’t care if you’ve only done 30 hours or so of volunteer work “But but, they were soo important to me.” lol and lol.
If you think Duke is as good as Yale or Princeton
If you think life is all about doing what makes you feel good.
If you put the past behind you, because it hurts too much

If you make a bad grade in class and blame it on other things rather than your own stupidity.

If you think your LOW sat score means you aren’t stupid, just a bad test taker.

If you come on college confidential after getting 2 b’s in a class and feel happy after others lie to you about you having a decent shot at an ivy.

If you think ivies don’t like perfect students and will accept a lesser student based on his so called “essay,” about individualism.

If you think that going to a state school is just as good as a private.

If you think people don’t care where you went to college.

If you think you’re ever going to make it in life based on hard work alone.

If you think that ivy admission officers care about your “11th grade depression,”

If you think success stories about low chance people getting into high chance reach schools weren’t all about URMs or LEGACIES.

If you think you are special, you’re not. There’s others better than you.

If you think LOW A’S means you are a hard worker and smart and think that there is no difference between a 90 and a 97.

@madogmgd’s post
^ Some of these aren’t for underachievers… I feel some of them are for normal people actually.

You get all A’s in remedial classes for doing 2 minutes of homework every night

you finish homework in 10 minutes and play video games for the rest of the night.

@madogmgd

Uhh…those sound more like they come from an overachiever blinded by anger. Try reading those again. You’re pretty much classifying everyone who’s not a contender in Ivy admissions as an underachiever, which simply isn’t true. You also seem to be saying that grades/schools are the only thing that matters. Seriously? Please pinch yourself and wake up. “If you think you’re special, you’re not. There’s others better than you.” WOW. Because the only standard for goodness is grades/academic performance, right? WRONG. I know a lot of people who make near perfect grades, but are total jerks.

You need to rethink some things and learn to be a little more human.

You don’t know the difference between U Penn and Penn State

You need to rethink some things and learn to be a little more human.

If you say stuff like this to comfort your ivy rejection.

The true is everybody SHOULD strive for an ivy. Not a state, and not a community.
Why do you think everybody is so poor? Because they try think “Ohhh,I make mistakes,I’m a human, there’smore important things in life than success.” Everybody is soo happy with their lives because they are IGNORANT and they don’t know what fruit tastes like if they’ve never tasted its sweet nectar, get what im saying?

So that’s why society isn’t as great as back then. Because everybody turned into giant slobbish input machines. They want pleasure input into their bodies but they can’t output hard work.
Bunch of lazy no goods…

^We’re not all born that way. Ivy league schools are incredibly difficult to get into, you have to spend your whole life training for academic success. But there’s so much more to learn then just academics, you have to know emotion, how to manage free time, how to drive, etc. People are so poor because the majority of people (and those who are in some regular non-honors/ap classes know) don’t try at all, fail out of high school and awaken to realize they’re homeless. I even knew one girl who had her life planned out to look exactly like that, and she was fine with it! Even people who come out of community college live successfully. I plan to go to a CSU. And I’ve worked plenty hard to do so.
