To accepted students:
Are you guys still working as hard in school? Personally I'm feeling the senioritis creeping up on me, although I'm still working hard for the subjects I enjoy. But how many of CMU's applicants that were accepted ED do you think actually keep working all the way through to the end of the year? Although no grade drop is technically acceptable, what kind of grade drop do you think is okay in order to get through the year easily and with no problems in terms of getting your application revoked.

I don't think CMU does it but there are a few schools out there that have been known to revoke acceptances if performance has fallen off. My recommendation is to keep doing your best.

It's probably best to keep doing well in your classes so that you don't make a panicked post a few months from now, afraid that your acceptance will get revoked (people make those posts every year). If As in some of your classes become Bs, that probably won't be an issue. Ds and Fs are probably a problem, and Cs are iffy. (Note: I have no experience with dropping grades and acceptances being taken away, but if you're an A student who gets one B... well, honestly, that could happen without senioritis)

I actually called CMU about this last year because I'm paranoid and wanted to make sure I didn't risk this. Anyway, what they said basically is that they pretty much don't do this and will only do something like that if they get a call from the school or guidance counselor recommending it (in cases like not graduating, getting straight Ds, getting in legal trouble, etc). So don't worry about keeping your GPA above a 3.0 or anything like that, you don't need to be concerned

When I got in two years ago, my ap bio grade dropped to a C, but I was fine :p

Don't be too concerned. But seriously I wouldn't slack off too much.
