Hi all (first post), I was searching on google and found this site and most of the poeple on here seem pretty well informed so i thought i would ask you guys a couple questions.

Im trying to get into LSU, im goin to be a senior next year, and my gpa is pretty bad because I did horrible my freshman and sophmore years...as of now i have like a 2.1 gpa and Im not so sure i can bring it up that much next year..I guess we can just assume im gonna graduate with 2.3, I also got a 24 on my act (Im probly gonna take it a couple more times though..we'll see what happens).

Now I know therequirements for LSU are either a 3.0 gpa or a 25 act score, but we all know that colleges will consider you even if you dont quite make the requirements, I know if i had like a 2.9 and a 24 they'd probly let me in if i sent in a nice resume...but my gpa is pretty bad that all im worried about.

anyways help would be appreciated....thanks

i dont know much about lsu. i visited new orleans though and everyone there has LSU pride.

It's not that hard to bring up your ACT from a 24. Just write a great application and you should be ok.

^ yea but just for safety im assuming i wont bring it up what do you think my chances are with lets say: 2.3 gpa and 24 ACT..with a good application...thx for the replies btw

nice username/handle

bumpin this cuz i dont think anyone goes past the first page

I applied to LSU for fall 2008 and got accepted into the honors college there. My brother also graduated from LSU, so I'm a bit familiar with the school. LSU does not ask for any essays, they basically decide to accept you or reject you based on gpa or sat. You can't do much about the gpa, but you can about the act. So I would try to raise the ACT score as much as possible, study, study and study. Also, do apply early to LSU, as soon as possible, since LSU is rolling admission. If you are an early applicant they might be more lenient.
