ur gonna have 20 ap classes. that’s insane. ur SAT will probably raise junior year. I got a 1990 on my try in sophmore year and bumped that up 260 points aver the next 3 months. with 20 aps, a solid SAT, and all your EC’s with you being president and stuff you should get into most of your choices but with all the ivys and stanfords/MITs/caltechs being flooded by smart kids, its a a crapshoot for some of those, but if you write good essays, you should be in

thanks so much for your response!

i’m definitely reviewing for the SAT and SAT IIs again in the summer before October.

so I’ve had quite a few updates to this, and I’ll be posting it soon!

Thanks for everyone’s responses so far; I look forward to chancing all of you back!

Your scores are kinda low and your ec’s are really typical for asian males so that’s probably gonna hurt a lot for your top four. most poeple that get in show clear academic promise like you do through grades and courses, but they also have great scores and ec’s or at least just really really phenomenal ecs. you definitely seem like you’re working hard, but for now i think your top 4 are reaches, with berkeley being a lower reach.

oh yeah haha. i almost forgot. if you’re all the way down here, make sure to post a link to your chancing thread and i’ll chance you back. :)

Dude you have ages just keep doing well at school and excelling. Take your SAT’s again when your sure you can do amazing. (you’ll likely get above 2200 with a 2020 in sophomore year ^^), I got 1880 first time and jumped to 2120, you can probs jump a similar amount from your first go.

@noragon

thanks for the reply! i don’t know if you saw it or not haha, but on the back page, i updated a bunch of things; my SAT is now a 2290 woohoo!

haha by the way, is there anywhere you want me to chance back? make sure to post a link!

You have great grades, ECs, and SAT scores. Unfortunately, you come across as a “typical asian.” This could hurt your chances at schools like MIT who get large influxes of applicants just like you. Try to develop an EC that you really like this junior year and win some awards that would distinguish you from all the others. Seems like you have great chances at all your schools (except maybe MIT, which is a crapshoot anyways).

Please chance me back!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1202915-c-c-chance-me-please-ill-chance-back.html

i’ve finished chancing you! good luck with your admissions as well!

holy $#!+ thats a lot of aps. I think your ECs are a little scattered, kind of looks like you’re just trying to get into college. But honestly, idk how any of those schools could reject you with stats and rigor like that. These pessimistic posters can say what they want, but seriously, those stats are amazing and are probably even at the top of the range of the schools youre looking at. Don’t be discouraged by people on CC, most of them largely overestimate how hard it is to get into college. But anyway, I think you’re in everywhere, except Stanford could be a little problematic.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1185199-how-my-ecs.html

Chance me back!

i’ve finished chancing you back!

You are now a force to be reckoned with xD

haha thanks. any chance threads for me to chance on? i have nothing to do for a few more weeks before school starts haha.

Academically speaking, you’re perfect for these schools. However, these top schools turn away well-qualified students all the time.

Here’s what I think your chances are:
MIT (1st choice) - reach
Stanford (2nd choice) - reach
Caltech (3rd choice) - reach
UC Berkeley (4th choice) - reach/possible target

Carnegie Mellon University - target
Georgia Institute of Technology - easy target, maybe even a safety school with your academics and extracurriculars
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - target/low reach
University of Michigan at Ann-Arbor - target
Purdue University - target
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - low target/safety
Virginia Polytechnic University - safety
University of Virginia - target/reach
University of Maryland- College Park - safety
University of Texas- Austin - target
Princeton University - high reach
Cornell University - reach/target (many people who visit Cornell decide not to apply there because of the climate and surroundings, which I have been told is “bleak.”)

Here’s my chance thread: <a href=“Questbridge Chance Me - Questbridge Programs - College Confidential Forums”>Questbridge Chance Me - Questbridge Programs - College Confidential Forums;
