I read the crime rate, etc, and people haven't been raped at USC last 3 years I saw.. Well, that was forceful rape.. There has been cases of rape where the person was intoxicated and therefore could not resist... (and that's kind of their own fault if they have been drinking that much) Just use common sense i think we'll all be fine. The crime rate was about the same as UCLA and that's in rich beverley hill place ish.

Thanks to all who backed me up on this one.

I mean, even my mentor (Head of Hist. Department at UCLA) supported my decision to go to USC. As he said, "Sample has made serious strides for USC in the last few years. UCLA has remained pretty much stagnant."
Both schools are great, but those who buy into the stereotypes without looking deeper at USC will be misled.

I think USC jumped 5 ranks @ US news... UCLA i think just stayed the same. I think USC's trying to get even better and will be much better place by the time we graduate...

Also i think USC would have more diversity because UCLA and UC berkeley's a ***** to get in for OOS...

^ From what I've heard, USC is trying really hard to raise its ranks in US News through trustee/presidential scholars who will boost their statistics. :) Which is good for me, I suppose.

I have to say, USC is doing a good job of attracting students. Last year, one student from my school went to USC. This year, 3 (including myself) are going for sure, and 5 more are 99% sure.

Well, CA2006, the reason I am attending USC actually is because I didn't get in my first choice. I only got waitlisted at Stanford.

Then again, I didn't even apply to UCLA or UCB, but I bet I would've gotten in if I so desired, which I didn't.
