**This was due to a lot of B's freshman year when I was at another school and a C in Honors Precalc over the summer at Rutgers University. I wrote a supplemental essay trying to explain this and sent it in.</p>

<p>Just put native american on the transcript and your in =P. Lol, my friend did that for the SAT and got a FLOOD of applications, scholarship offers, etc and he is only 1/8th cherokee.</p>
<p>i'd say yes, they do improve, as your scores show improvement. i would say that c in precalc might hurt, but assuming you got better it might be okay. i think you have a good chance, i think rice is trying to expand their class and pull lots of out of states in, you by all means don't look like a "Weak" applicant--i think you have a good chance =)</p>
<p>D wigs, honestly, dont stress too much about the scores. I was recently admitted and i was really stressed about it too. Rice doesnt just want numbers. i know people that got denied last year with high sat's, the number one person in my school last year got denied. there is no guarantee. I did lower on my sat's but got really high sat 2's so that helped me out, but i honestly think that extracurriculars, interview, and the box ameliorate your chances for acceptance. be creative and be confident man. If you show that you are unique on your essay that is what they want, show creativity on the box and dont do anything cliche like gluing uncooked rice to the box. I did something where i combined symbolism with something I am really interested in-----stem cell research.</p>
