@archaic, I think you would want other people to make the same mistake Don’t worry, I know a few people who did the same thing, and if enough people make that mistake, they’ll probably be pretty lenient

Ehh, no point in wishing misfortune onto others! Haha yeah I saw someone on the YSP Facebook page ask what would happen if we wrote too much… Later I calculated what my first 200 characters would be, and it doesn’t even include any of my actual activities xD
I even called myself conscientious (which I am. Usually.) Uh oh…

Anyways. Why would you all like to attend YSP? Planning on majoring in biology or a similar field?

I’m planning on majoring in biology or biochemistry. This program looks so INTERESTING! I would love to get in!

The projects from last year all sound really cool! They’re all individual too, which I thought was pretty cool. Lots of UC resources?

This is the point in time after submitting the application that I try not to fall too much in love with the program…I am failing terrible.

Has anyone else received the postcard they send when they receive your app? because I haven’t gotten mine yet and i’m getting worried…

I haven’t gotten mine either.

Nope, haven’t gotten it back yet.
I’m sure they’re really busy right now… I’m guessing most people sent in their applications during the last few days. (Like me, heh…)

They sent me a confirmation email that my app was received.

I got my postcard yesterday! on their Facebook page it says they have almost 400 applicants… So nervous!

Decisions come out today! Good luck everyone! Hope to eat some great food at UC Davis with you all this summer, haha :)

I got waitlisted :/. Is there any chance of getting off the waitlist?

I was accepted! Very surprised, given that I wrote 200 words instead of 200 characters for two of the sections…

@Galanoleyki: Yes, there’s a chance you still might be accepted. I’m sure there are some people who were accepted to other programs as well and might choose to go to some other program instead.

I was accepted! Wow I was amazed! Now I just have to find the money to attend… Let the fundraising begin! :)

@jasonmanley: Yay congrats! Where are you from/what grade/etc?

Looking forward to meeting everyone :)

Where are the other 38 people who were accepted?

@archaic I’m a junior from a rural town in western NY

I’m hoping for an awesome research project! It looks like we’re doing a lot of fun stuff too… I’m excited.

Accepted =]

accepted:)

Cool :)

KingdomHearts, I saw that you got into SSP as well; do you plan on going to YSP or SSP?
