I also finished submitting before 8 pm (at 7:40 pm!!). I wouldn’t be too worried over a typo, they get thousands of applications and I’m sure none of them are perfectly flawless!
I’m a senior in HS, but I think I can still submit next year (because I’ll still be 18 by the deadline, and it’s for 15-18 year olds). Still hoping for finalist status though!
Also regarding when they’ll announce the winners, I think they might pull a curveball and do what they did last year – which was announce all the winners at once with a list of the winners on November 20. So instead of calling the finalists in early November, they might just do it all at once in late Nov/early Dec. Just some thoughts!
@Tricia22 and anyone else who was wondering - regarding the page number for the poems, YA just responded to me this morning and said it was fine if you forgot to include page numbers, and that they won’t be disqualified. Yay!
Makes me feel better in case there are any formatting errors I made. (I don’t even want to look, since I know I’ll be upset with myself if I missed something)
Same here Arsey, though my submission went in way later. Want to swap submissions; I honestly just want as many opinions on mine as I can, to know if I should hold out hope or just accept failure.
Has anyone applied for photography? This is my first year applying and there isn’t much information on photography; I was just wondering if anyone knew how competitive/ how hard it is to final?
@Ozymandeos I feel like you’re stressing too much over your submissions. Getting opinions AFTER submission won’t really do you any good except cause heightened anxiety or self-confidence. Take it easy.
