Ugh this wait is killing me tbh. I can’t stop thinking about it and criticizing every little thing i did.
Honestly, the wait isn’t killing me that much! Maybe it’s because of school, extracurriculars, or getting my Scholastic submissions ready, but YoungArts (surprisingly) isn’t killing me like I thought it would.
I’m so nervous I can barely sleep.
I applied for the short story and novel sections.
@Balletfreak1999 Hey! Good luck with your submissions! I applied to Creative-Nonfiction, and am hoping, but at the same time trying not to put myself toooo over the moon. I thought you applied to ballet when I first saw your screen name!!
Good luck to you, too! Haha, I am ballerina but I didn’t apply in that category because I’m more interested in writing.
@Balletfreak1999 Thanks! And that’s cool! Have you heard of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards?
I have heard of them, never submitted anything though. Have you?
I also thought the wait would kill me, but right now my mind is preoccupied with college apps and school so I’ve literally got no time to agonize about it… which is a good thing and bad thing imo lol
I’m applying early to a few schools so this week is just gonna be a blur until November 1 :)>-
@HalfwayThereUni1 I have! I’m actually planning on applying in the area of writing this year.
@shadyconcepts Ya, I also thought the wait would get to me too, but I have been busy working on other applications. Are any of you guys applying to the Disney Dreamers Academy? I am.
I have this week to finish an application for a big scholarship. Blargh.
COllege apps are upsetting me.
And I’ve never applied to the scholastic awards, should I?
@Ozymandeos You should def apply to scholastic! It’s pretty easy to win a regional award, so that’s always nice. The real hard part is winning a national medal (after earning a gold regional key), but by then we’ll be second semester seniors so who cares after that woo
@Balletfreak1999 I have! Last year was my first time (I came across it online and said “Oooo!” What’s this?!" and the rest is history) and I got a silver key for my flash fiction piece. (It was a dialogue between two teenage girls that were about to be forced into marriage–one wanted out, the other didn’t care). You should submit this year!
@Tricia22 I’ve never heard of it! I’m going to try and send something in, though! Thanks, girl! :"> :">
@Ozymandeos Yes! You’ve never tried, until you’ve applied…
: ( Edit didn’t save.
Anyways, you all should try these!

@HalfwayThereUni1 Ya, I first heard about Disney Dreamers on the Steve Harvey show. He’s partnered with them, so he did a segment on his show about it. Good luck, and you’re welcome!
@Tricia22 That first essay question makes more sense now! : D
400 words for all three, tho…?! :(( I’m a girl of words… this is going to kill me!
Good luck to you, too!!! [-O< [-O<
Anyone apply for dance?
Also adding onto that writing contests list, try for Sierra Nevada contest! The deadline’s on Nov 1, I believe.
