@shadyconcepts and @Ozymandeos Since you’re seniors, where are you all applying to?! And what do you want to do?! Everyone else, too, though. What do you want to do after high school?
I want to go to UC Berkeley and triple-major (no, not that crazy) in Political Science, Society & Environment, and Peace and Conflict Issues, and then triple-minor in LGBT Studies, Gender & Women’s Studies, and Human Rights Interdisciplinary… at least that’s my plan anyway.
God’s going to have to help me get into that school, though. [-O<
My first choice is Penn hahaha… God’s also gonna have to give me a helping hand on that one too :))
I’m not sure what I want to study so I’m applying Undecided, but I’m probably going to major in something in the Humanities/Social Sciences, probably with a concentration/minor in Creative Writing 
As a budding writer, my biggest problem is that I have maybe two or three pieces that I feel strongly about, and a bunch of random ones that are filled with incoherent thoughts or awkward phrases. I always have to rely on those two or three pieces when entering prestigious competitions like YoungArts, because the rest just won’t cut it.
I’m completely uncertain on where I’m going to go…
APplying to Harvard, Stanford, and MIT for sure. Not sure where else…I’m really indecisive and a bunch of stuff has been happening that makes me just want to curl up in a hole and die.

Does anybody know when they’ll start notifying finalists?
@Balletfreak1999 I’m guessing they’ll notify the finalists with the rest of the winners (they might release it in a list like last year). That’ll prob be around late November, like 19 or 20.
Probably mid to late November. I hope they post list like last year. The year before that was nerve-wrecking.

I didnt apply that year, but I’m looking through the comment section and there’s a lot of back and forth hyperventilating walls-of-text worry over who did and didn’t get the call (before they would call the Finalists weeks before notifying anyone else). Now its a short, sweet and simple list on one day. (idk if finalists are still called afterwards though)
More than just the calling finalists week before, they called different categories on different dates and it was nerve-wracking, but I of course didn’t get anything.
Yep, here’s hoping they won’t do calls this year. (Though clicking on the list and trying to find your name is almost equally as nerve-wracking…almost)

I just called and they said late November to early December. I’m really nervous too, I really want to be a finalist but I doubt I will be. It’s my first time applying and I’m 18
Also they said emails instead of calls this year
I wrote one of my pieces in a week and the other in 3 hours. I’m so nervous.
