<p>Anyone else desperately waiting to hear back about YoungArts? I submitted in short story and creative non-fiction (though I never got a confirmation email for the second one), and I just want to know already! What about the you guys? Do any of you know people who have won in the past, or how YoungArts week works?</p>

<p>Finalists are usually notified in early December/late November and Merit and Honorable Mentions shortly thereafter. If you are a finalist then you accept and they give you more details on YoungArts week which is in January in Miami – it looks amazing! I do not know anyone that has won in the past but a few people on here have.</p>
<p>I entered for Photography and I am not expecting anything but I gave it my best and you never know! I had extreme difficulties submitting so I eventually just emailed them my pieces and a lady emailed me back saying my submission had been processed; she was very nice and I’m sure if you have any questions you can call them and they will answer them.</p>

<p>Wow that is amazing I can’t believe they are that fast with judging, that’s now even a month!!!
I enter in 3 disciplines…Creative Non-Fiction, Photography of course Visual Arts. I’m super nervous… I never enter into any type of prestigious national art competition, so this is like a big moment! Pry for me and I’ll pry for you:D</p>

<p>It seems that vocalists and writing has been at least partially notified. I think the other disciplines haven’t been touched yet.</p>
<p>I’ve heard from people across the board at this point - theatre, art, photo, instrumental, voice, writing. Not cinematic arts yet, but I don’t know anyone who applied for that section! Anyway, they’ll continue notifying for the next few weeks. Watch for a call! And when they release HM names, look for yours - it’s still a huge honor.</p>
<p>I have seen one or two visual arts winners, but the seem DRASTICALLY out numbered by all the other disciplines. Does anyone know how they announce the finalists? Any possibility the haven’t finished announcing all of the the disciplines? Or does anyone think they would wait till they were completely done with all of them? I applied for visual arts and I still have only seen two and I have scoured the entire internet looking for visual arts announcing their achievements and havent found hardly any.</p>
<p>it may just be that kids aren’t be public about it. like i said, i know people in for visual who haven’t posted anywhere public at this point. BUT i do thing it’s entirely viable that they haven’t notified everyone yet. don’t worry too much until december, when all notifications are done.</p>
<p>I think they already announce all the finalist…I know last year they email the HM and Merit winners right before Thanksgiving, check your email often—I know I will, good luck! :D</p>
