The adjustment concerns expressed here are generic to freshman entering college almost anywhere. There is nothing unique about BC in this regard.

I agree with jpm50. Adjusting to college life and making new friends is an issue for freshmen everywhere, not just BC. Both of my sons – one who attends BC and one who attended another school – had similar concerns.

To the OP (having not read most of the thread): Go on 48 Hours! It’s a great way to figure out what you aren’t enjoying about college, and is great for meeting other people going through the difficulty of freshman year. Everyone is as nervous/frustrated with freshman hear, but 48 Hours is one of the few opportunities where people show it.

I am a junior, and while I love BC, freshmen year was very tough. 48 Hours opened up my eyes to the fact that others also felt the same way, and that college isn’t as idyllic as it appears on tv and in pop culture.

So much can change over your BC experience, I hang out with nobody I did back in freshmen year, and you don’t realize what great opportunities you have on campus (if you’re willing to work for them). Join some clubs, and diversify your social network.

Basically +1 to Green Apple’s post. Also, I recommend contacting Office of First Year Experience, I’ve worked for them over the past year and a half and can help put you in contact with some great people to help you maximize your BC experience Feel free to PM.
