At least in our case, as PA is full of LACs of all levels of selectivity and excellent merit in many cases, the cost considerations put them very much on a level playing field with the state school alternatives.

The PA private LACs may also be more cost-competitive with PA state schools because PA state schools do not have very good in-state financial aid.
