Your college related New Years' resolution(s)

Post your New Years' Resolutions related to college here. HARD MODE: NOT TALKING ABOUT GRADES

Mine:
- Meet people from my dorm no matter how antisocial it is, I don't care how late it is in the year
- Go from a skinny weakling to a skinny, slightly-less-weak, bit-of-defined-muscle guy
- Get some kind of job on campus
- Get an apartment for next year
- Get girlfriend

-Save enough money to go on an archaeological project in Malta.

(Yeah… I don’t have anything I really want to change. Don’t drink or smoke. Have a boyfriend. Got good grades. All that jazz.)

try and survive a 20 credit load, which includes an art class, of which i haven’t taken in the past 4 years.

-exercise more
-participate more actively in campus organizations such as Black Caucus and RING (LGBTA caucus)
-figure out how I’m going to pay for my books
-figure out my spring break plans (i.e. get enough money for a plane ticket to Colorado)
-Explore the East Lansing bar scene
-go to Cedar Point for the first time?

Cook more (my schedule last semester made it near impossible).

Go out to bars more.

Take up jogging (I have an on again off again relationship with jogging…).

I’m not sure these are college-related, just general.

-No more skipping class (unless I actually watch the recorded lecture later)
-Workout in some form 3x a week at least
-Eat healthier (goes with above, I gained ~10 lbs last semester, I want it gone haha)
-Become more involved on campus
-Volunteer
-Sleep early and get up early/have better time management
-Have even more fun

half of these are more life-related than college related, unless your college does fitness tests or something.

My new year resolutions:

-Quit smoking
-Lose weight
-Build muscle
-Go out with at least one girl (not gonna say ‘sleep with a girl’ because that’d just be setting me up for failure from the get-go)
-Keep my GPA up

Talk to at least one person other than my roommate

Get significantly more sleep. Fewer absences would be nice, but that will depend on if I get more sleep. I am hoping my health will hold out better this semester.

ETA: fa-la-la-lena: GO ON THE RAPTOR YOU MUST DO IT.

Though personally I am a loser and the gemini is absolutely my favorite. And the log ride.

-Get acceptances so i can transfer out
-Survive my course load while playing varsity softtball
-Study on time instead of procrastinating my time away
-Have a little fun

Get accepted into Virginia Tech

Find an apartment that will allow my fox

And a roommate that wants a fox!

Good gradez

Join a new club or participate in some activity. I had far too much free time last semester with the one club I’m in.

Spend less time on the computer / in my room, and more in the Library and study more effectively.

No procrastinating. I am really bad at this.

Try not to skip any class, especially since my earliest is 10:30.

don’t waste your time on weeds, it’s awful. watch breaking bad instead

My goal is to finish my last three semesters of college with a 4.0. I’ve gotten a 4.0 before, and I’ve always gotten more A’s than B’s in every semester, but the last few semesters…and especially last semester, I just haven’t given a **** about school at all, and skipped nearly half my classes, and just got by on my genius. I’m going to work on keeping up with the readings each week and going to every class, and if I do that, I’ll probably get all A’s.

I also want to devote more time to my creative outlets. Write more short stories and get started on a book I want to write. I wrote some great stuff this past semester, but I was lazy, and the quantity was a bit lacking. Also completely disregarded making any good web apps or anything…I just didn’t give a **** last semester, and it went into this too, as well as my classes.

Other than that, I’m almost done with college. Right now it’s just about trying to enjoy these last few semesters and strengthen the friendships with the friends I already have, and figure out if there is anyone else important enough that I should be friends with.
