Your Competition...

Most of us know that the deadline for boarding school applications has passed. Since you've already submitted your application, dare to take a look at your competition?

Everyone, if you please, post:
-What schools you are applying to.
-What grade you are applying to.
-Why you are applying.
-Your extracurriculars

DON'T POST YOUR GRADES OR SCORES. WE ALL KNOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF YOU ALL HAVE ALL A'S AND B'S AND YOUR SAT SCORES ARE IN THE 90TH PERCENTILE.

This is to gain a sense of the different personalities applying.

I would suggest that everyone not post too much identifying information (ie; female wrestler applying to Milton) here. The chances that AOs are actually reading this thread, during their busiest time, is remote, but why chance it? You’ve worked too hard.

lolagirl: if you want to see you competition just look under Prep School Chances

yankeefan-agreed
and plus u will find out in less than 2 months if u got in or not and it wont matter who ur competition was then

It’s closer to a month now.

I read the chances forums. I’d say that maybe about half the applicants have those stats. Andover says that 75% of all applicants are “academically admissible.” I assume this is a very broad term. Someone with a 75% on the SSAT is probably “academically admissible,” but that doesn’t mean that they’re the most competitive applicants.

haha yeah everytime i see someone applying for my grade to the same school i’m kind of like grr…
which reminds me when i was at a school interview, in the waiting room this one mom was kind of giving me the death glare when a student was talking to us haha. i wanted to say calm down not applying for 9th grade!

haha, what grade are you applying to ylaxw1123?

ifax-what I believe Andover meant was that of the applicants that applied, 75% of those kids were admissible, not that they had a 75% on SSAT.

I’m sure Andover has a slightly different view of “academically admissible” than many other schools. You can bet PA is in the list of a high percentage of top-performing candidates.

I never said that I believed that 75% of the kids had a 75% on the SSAT. I was just using that as an example of an “admissible” kid.
