I consider myself an excellent driver; I know my driving limits and the limits of the particular vehicle I'm in. Never had any at-fault accidents, etc.
As a sidenote related to driving skills, please, please please... when you see an emergency vehicle with lights on, pull over all the way to the right and make a complete stop (unless you're already stopped at a red light, in which case you should stay there). I drive an ambulance, and I absolutely cannot stand all the idiocy I see on the road when I'm trying to get to a call. Sopping in the middle of the road/intersection, not even attempting to get out of the way, etc. In my eyes, if you can't or won't do that, you are the worst driver on the road.

i failed my license test twice. The first time I wasn't prepared, and the second I bumped the curb when pulling over on the side of the road.

I consider myself a pretty good driver, though I have only been on the highway once and it wasn't fun. I don't have a car though, so maybe that's why.

I actually got in an accident before I even got my permit. My mom was talking with her friend, who let her son drive the car. So my mom randomly takes me to the school parking lot one night and asks me if I want to drive. I figure "why not?" and did fine until I had to park. I was pulling into a space facing the woods and I was going a little fast so I panicked and hit a pedal. Unfortunately for me, it was the gas. So I hit a tree and was ok, but my mom had to get her car fixed. Wasn't fun. At least I learned which pedal was which :p

I drove 1.5 years with no accidents, no tickets, not even parking tickets. No close calls, no problems. I drive fairly fast sometimes.

Yesterday I total'd a 2003 350z.

HIS DAD'S 2003 350z

hHAHAHHAH

pitiful!

and cut your hair!

By the way, in HI, I have seen speeding tickets for going as low as 5 miles above the speed limit. The highest I've seen is 137mph, but an attorney said someone asked him to defend him going 170mph! The cops will often give out tickets for reckless driving if you're 30 or more miles above the speed limit. It's a petty misdemeanor, punishable by up to 30 days in jail or $1000 fine & makes your insurance premiums sky high!

My son is a decent driver, but not very interested in getting his license; he'll be 18 this month. He rather be chauferred by me & not have to deal with parking. It works for us, so far. His sister will turn 16 this month & hasn't yet studied for or received her driver's permit. Their cousin got his license at 16 & drives to school regularly, usually transporting his two younger sibs too. His folks say he's a good driver, but he also likes to speed. He's rear-ended a car once, but not major damage.

My driving skills are all right, I suppose. I tend to get lost a lot, probably because I tend to navigate via landmarks rather than street names. I'm deadly around trash cans, but I haven't hit anything else (yet). :p

The good thing is I don't speed, and I can handle parking and turning (except ll parking). :D

ucla: NO I WASNT

S returned to school today to find that his roommate's brother (19), died in an automobile accident on Thanksgiving Day.

Your driving experience is dependent on other people's driving skills and your experience in avoiding situations that can put you in danger. Driving the speed limit and staying between the lines is the easy part.

The_Who,

Well, at least I'm in Japan, away from your evil. ;)

I am a very good driver in comparison to other people I know. I am very vigilent about hazards and have avoided many potential accidents that would have been caused by other stupid drivers. I always assume that the other guy doesn't know how to drive well. I get very frustrated with other drivers because they never know what they are doing.

And I am very good at getting from one place to another. I take skills like map-reading (I have plenty of AAA maps) and using mapquest for granted but there are some people who are simply illiterate when it comes to directions. My mom used to be one of them. For example, she actually had to think about the following: if you take 79 South to get to Pittsburgh, you have to take 79 North to go back home. She actually had to think about the North-South part. It took her a while to grasp N-S-E-W.

I've said this before, but the worst driver I have ever experienced was a former Marine Corps pilot. He was driving me and other cadets in a van to a drill competition and I never experienced so much jerking and movement across the road lanes in my life. I had a bad headache by the end of that trip.

ucla: "away from your evil" ??? what the hell does that mean?

I have no tickets and no accidents.

That being said, I average around 90-95 in 65mph zones.

The_Who,

took me 4 times to get permit and 5 times to get license....
[/quote]

Only someone evil could take that many times to get both. Therefore, you must be evil. I don't like driving on the road with evil types...:(

"That being said, I average around 90-95 in 65mph zones."

me too and I never got a single speeding ticket. Let's keep that way.
: P

you will, oh believe me, you will...

NEVER!

I'm getting a radar installed next week

"Only someone evil could take that many times to get both. Therefore, you must be evil. I don't like driving on the road with evil types..."

gosh uclari u didnt have to be that hard on me, no need to bash on me cuz i have bad driving skills. and plus u dont have to say that i am evil u ****ing doosh.

This morning on my way to school I didn't see a car coming and cut in front of a car. I wound up on the lawn of a church after the women hit me and the lady was a teacher at my school :( Since no witnesses existed I didn't get a ticket, but my insurance may go up. Ugh...

I admit that I am a terrible driver. I almost get in car accidents all the times!

One time I was trying to parallel parking, and as I reversed, I wanted to stop-but instead of pressing brake, I accidentally pushed accelerator, going over the curb almost to the highway!! But, luckily, I quickly pressed the brake. This almost gave my dad a heart attack- he was my passenger. Since then, I stopped driving him.

One time I was making a turn. I suddenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. So, the car made a wide turn into the ditch! This scared my mom, and I stopped driving her anymore.

One time I drove on the right lane on two-lane same way highway. I put on the cruise control at the speed limit. I then talked to my passenger, so I wasn't paying attention to the road. I got much closer to the silver car that was slower than mine. I didn't have enough time to cancel the cruise control and brake, and a white car was on the left side of mine. So, I was kinda trapped, and I just sped up and cut in the white car. I almost hit the silver car by one inch. This scared my brother. But, I still drive him every single day!

I am the perfect driver. I have never gotten into any accidents and any close shaves were always the fault of the other drivers.

But I do have to spend half an hour to parallel park.
