Harlem Rennaisance. Thriving culture and the black man be recognized pre-1960’s.

So I just realized that I adore the 1990s much more than the 1940s (my previous choice), and not just for nostalgia (although that’s part of it); the fashion (which was funny), the music (like Smashing Pumpkins), and basically the culture in general. Honestly, if you don’t like neon windbreakers, you’re un-American.

The Golden Age of Hollywood was from the late 1920s to late 1950s. If race wasn’t an issue for me, I would’ve also loved to visit that period, being the film freak that I am. ;)

The 90’s because
- Waking up at 7am on Saturdays was worth it.
- Playing outside afterschool was better than staying inside on the computer
- Pokemon and PowerRangers was the Sh***
- Teachers actually liked you
- US actually had a surplus that Clinton had no idea what to do with
- You can kiss/hug a girl/boy even if your barely know them
- $5 meant the whole world to you because it can make you very happy

Was Pokemon more of a late 90s thing or an early 2000s thing?

Late 90s for sure. Johto might’ve been the highlight, but the late 90s made it.

Yea, late 90’s. First grade was all about Pokemon. ![]()
Actually, I want to go back to the 90’s too. Lots of good memories.

And it was the last decade before everyone (at least people our age) became addicted to the internet/cell phones, <3 car phones

Babydragon summed my reasons up.

Oh gosh. Probably the 1960s or 70s. I would’ve loved to see extreme change taking place like that.

Yeah, Pokemon was definitely popular in the late 90s to a little bit of the early 2000s. (1997-99; didn’t hit big in the US ‘til 1998). I should know because I was such a huge Pokemon freak. I remember watching the show on Kids’ WB, bought episodes on VHS, had Pokemon cards, played Pokemon Stadium on Nintendo 64, had a Pokemon themed Monopoly game board… Hell, I remember my friends and I acting like idiots during recess in elementary school pretending to be Pokemon trainers, LOL! Pokemon started to go downhill when they went beyond the original 150 Pokemon. With that said, I haven’t watched that show in YEARS!

Oh so many for me. The 20s, sixties, seventies and the 90s.

Looking back at the 90s saddens me. Back then it’s not so uncomplicated.

I feel so old already.
