Your favorite (hs) musical

What's your favorite musical? This year, we're doing The Wiz and I LOVE the music. It's amazing. Has anyone done it? Last year we did Aida, and that was AMAZING too. WSS was also spectacular. I love musicals.

haha For a sec I thought this was a thread about the Disney channel movie, High School Musical. I haven't really seen many musicals besides school plays, which were done quite nicely.

mmm, where to begin...

fiddler on the roof, into the woods, joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat, little shop of horrors, wicked, les miserables, miss saigon, the phantom of the opera, man of la mancha, jekyll and hyde, the pirates of penzance, the secret garden, west side story, you're a good man charlie brown

good grief, there's way too many to even list! :)

and i love wicked elphaba! :)

Suessical! I'm in it this year, too. :)

Les Miserables.

we dont have musicals, but my favorite school play was Saturday Night Live :)

bye bye birdie was pretty fun......so, surprisingly, was abracadabra aladdin.

One of my friends played the understudy for Boq on Broadway, he was also in Bombay Dreams. My favorite musical is FIdler on the Roof though. Wicked is overplayed and I hate Rent (I know, I'm going to get shot).

I went to the Edinburugh Fringe w/ Seussical last year, we're doing Cats right now.

Ahh I loved High School Musical too! I FINALLY TAPED IT! Now I can watch it 24/7 mwuhahahaha.

My school's production of Annie two years ago was AMAZING. We also did Guys and Dolls in eighth grade (before graduating from middle school) and we're doing it again as seniors (before graduating from high school)! How cool is that?!

my school did Oklahoma...good times drama kids, good times.

All they need to do now is combine Shakespearian trajedies, comedies, and musicals. Some sort of Oklahoma-Romeo and Juliet-Scrubs shindig. lol.

We just did Oklahoma too. Ahh it was so depressing. Last year they announced we'd do Beauty and the Beast (my singer-dancer friend's favorite musical ever) but then we found out we couldn't do it because of copyright issues, so we had to do Oklahoma (my singer-dancer friend's least favorite musical ever). It wasn't particularly great. But my singer-dancer friend got the lead anyway.

:</p>

Honk! is a cute musical. I liked it when it was performed at my school two years ago.

I liked Anything Goes.

Little Shop of Horrors, The Man of La Mancha, Les Miserables, and South Pacific.

Our school just did Annie -- I thought it is a great musical (watched it three times), a pity that they took it off Broadway already.

Basically I think any musical can be really great if the lead actor/actress has a nice solo voice.

My absolute favorite that our school has done was "Into the Woods." Nobody had ever heard of it before, but our drama department pulled it off brilliantly.

well in all four of my years here we've done one musical and it was "the bells are ringing" which was fabulous and i loved. the others were- our town, arsnic (spelling?) and old lace (which i loved the actresses were fabulous), and this year it was the merry wives of windsor which was a horrid choice because it's not a well known shakespearen play and they used the orignal language and no one understood a thing.

Urinetown, Sweet Charity, Jesus Christ Superstar

Guys and Dolls.
