1- Princeton
2- Columbia
3- Harvard
4-Yale
5- Cornell
6- Brown
7- UPenn
8- Dartmouth

From a different perspective Princeton, Penn, Cornell - who have forthcoming coaches for a particular sport. Not Harvard or Yale who have the opposite of forthcoming coaches for same sport (can't believe what they say).

People are ranking Dartmouth low because they don't know about the quality of education and teaching there. What I guess is happening is everyone ranks HYP high and then adds their favorite to round out the top half and then just lists the other 4 in whatever order. Although it is fun to post a list, it's very hard for any of these to have any meaning absent specific criteria besides "Your FAVORITE". I think that the lists might be more helpful if they were ranked based on specific criteria, such as:

Undergraduate education:
1- Princeton
2- Dartmouth
3- Yale
4- Brown
5- Harvard
6- Columbia
7- Penn
8- Cornell

Prestige/Grad Placement:
1- Harvard
2- Yale
3- Princeton
4- Dartmouth
5- Columbia
6- Brown
7- Penn
8- Cornell

Graduate Research:
1- Harvard
2- Yale
3- Columbia
4- Penn
5- Cornell
6- Princeton
7- Brown
8- Dartmouth

Selectivity:
1- Harvard
2- Yale
3- Princeton
4- Columbia
5- Dartmouth
6- Brown
7- Penn
8- Cornell

hate to break it to you, but your selectivity ranking is a little off

Huh? The list is accurate in terms of acceptance rate (Harvard- 7.1%, Yale 8.6%, Princeton 9.5%, Columbia 10.0%, Dartmouth 13.2%, Brown 13.4%, Penn 16.4%, and Cornell 20.5%). Its also pretty much accurate in terms of SAT score and %in top 10. Not sure what else objectively counts in terms of selectivity.

Penn
Yale
Columbia
Princeton
Harvard
Dornell
Brown
Dartmouth

Top 3: Brown, Penn, Cornell. Not sure of the order exactly.
After that it would be Dartmouth.

I wouldn't want to go to Harvard, Princeton or Yale.

Oh, forgot Columbia. Make that number 5.

I favor them all except Brown and Dartmouth.

So I'd say my rough preferential order is: Harvard, Columbia, Yale/Princeton, Cornell, Penn

BROWN!

the rest

I change my opinion :) (I visited over spring break.)
So these are MY preferences:

UG
Princeton/Yale
Dartmouth/Brown
Harvard
UPenn
Columbia
Cornell

Graduate
Harvard
Yale
UPenn
Columbia

Probably wouldn't apply to the rest.

BTW... for statistics people.. my old list was
Princeton
Dartmouth
Yale
Harvard
Columbia
UPenn
Brown
Cornell

Yale
Brown!!
Dartmouth
Princeton
Harvard
Columbia
Penn
Cornell

Dartmouth!!

let's try not to separate by grad and undergrad...this isn't met to be a thread to determine which Ivy League school is the "best" in certain areas...so please just make one list or just name your favorite ivy...thanks!

keep posting!

(1) Penn
(2) Columbia
(3) Harvard
(4) Princeton
(5) Brown
(6) Yale
(7) Dartmouth
(8) Cornell

I personally prefer Poison Ivy. I'm not allergic to it...

Wait...anyone notice how people are multiple posting to push their schools up??. Look at 08seniors08 (posted above) pushing Penn to the top. He/she has posted on this thread 3!!! times.

WOW. Seriously, trying to cheat a forum poll??

^ Maybe he/she has a short memory. :p
