Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I went to a Dollar Tree Store and purchased some really nice shaped, stackable bowls for my son to take to college. The product line has mixed reviews online (not the bowls which I could not even find online unless part of a set of dishes). Since he won’t be placing them in a dishwasher, I thought they were a great deal at a dollar per bowl for his needs. Brand is Creativeware. These are heavy in weight so if you need to ship them or are going to carry everything on a plane, I don’t think that they are worth it. If you traveling by car for move in, they are really nice bowls. My son was very happy with these. BTW, I asked my son if he would prefer paper goods or inexpensive plastic and he prefers plastic plates, bowls, etc. I am not going to wrap breakable ceramics, glass, etc. so I did not consider those items.

Dollar Tree also had lots of plates which I did not care for, tumblers looked great but were too large and did not seem to stack well, serving pieces, etc.

Actually, I just found the bowls that I bought online. I knew $1 per bowl was a great deal. I found what looks like the same bowl online for 5.95 per bowl.

I get this [GroupRoundup - A Summary of Local and National Groupon Deals](Grouproundup.com) in my e-mail every day. It shows groupons for the whole country including on-line ones that anyone can use.

fishymom, keep an eye on the Brooks website - they sometimes have deals on last year’s models (50% off) and free shipping on $75 and up purchases. Also, if you D’s feet are wider, consider men’s Adrenalines (D width vs B for women’s models) - that’s what I get for my wider feet.

Here is one choice:

[Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10 women’s running shoe - BrooksRunning.com](http://m.brooksrunning.com/Brooks-Adrenaline-GTS-10-Womens-Running-Shoe/1200641B427.050,default,pd.html?start=12&cgid=women-sale-runningshoes)

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, she is a narrow, so no mens. But the Adrenalines in medium fit her well. I hope this pair is the last I have to buy for a while. She should get shoes as part of her college team uniform.

^^Ha ha - yep, that’s a GOOD DEAL!!!

Neat groupon for Cafe’ Press. Spend $25, get $50 worth of products [CafePress Deal of the Day | Groupon Columbus GA](http://www.groupon.com/deals/cafepress-columbus-ga-1?post_purchase=true)

My good buy of the day: a Maggie London dress at NR. It fits so well that I look like a model, but the best part is that it was only $35. Now I can justify my outrageous shoe purchase. :)

If anyone is into designer fashion bargains, the clearance racks at Nordie’s are now empty, which means the clothes will show up at NR sometime soon, with additional discounts.

A cool groupon for the college kids - [Allmenus.com/Campusfood.com Deal of the Day | Groupon Philadelphia](http://www.groupon.com/deals/allmenus-com-philadelphia?c=dnb&p=3)

Thanks, Kathiep! Picked one up for my Philly-area student. Just wish the expiration date was farther into the school year.

Yes, thanks Kathiep–my D goes to school in Philadelphia too. What a fun gift for her :)

I went to a CVS today. They had lots of make-up marked down by 75%. On top of that I had $5 of their CVS bucks that was applied to my purchase (I had to use it for Health and Beauty products, or whatever the dept. is called). I am not sure what I purchased that qualified me for the $5, but something I bought qualified, and I walked out with 3 nice products for $3.

JC Penney coupon - $10 off a $25 purchase on-line or in the store! [JCPenney Coupons](http://f.chtah.com/i/2/95827765/welcomemain.html?)

Kathiep, thank you for posting this!

Macys currently has 50% off orig. price on much of their merchandise. I have 20% coupons and a couple for $20 off a $50 purchase. If you don’t have those coupons, if you use a Macys charge card you get additional 15% off on many items as well. There are exclusions and not everything is 50% off the original price, so view their website or flyer for specifics.

i’ve been using the current kohl’s 15 percent off purchases and have found neckties priced 90 percent off. makes the final cost of a $30.00 tie less than $3.00. woo hoo !
thanks for all for posting on this thread. i love a deal !

S got a load of neckties, including several Dior ones for FREE because he cleaned out his grandparents storage room. They had a HUGE pile of ties that no one was using & they told him to go ahead and toss whatever, so he culled those he liked & donated the rest. It is great, since he had been looking for neckties for his new career! :)

Coach outlets…OK…so this isn’t a “bargain”…but they have a lot of bags for between $99-$149 PLUS 30% off at their outlets this weekend for the 4th of July sale.

I went to the last day of the Country Curtains clearance sale in Lee, Ma and got a 20 inch drop twin dust ruffle for $3.20. For those who live near and like Country Curtains…this is an annual sale that starts about Memorial day. The %age off increases the longer the sale goes on (and the merchandise decreases). So…mark your calendars for next year…today was the last day for this year (sorry).

Got my husband two slim Van Heusen shirts…one $11 and the other $13…we’ll see if they are REALLY slim.

Went to JC Penney’s today. The same coupon was available in the store. They were handing them out and had plenty sitting on the counter where I was rung up. I was able to find plenty of discounted items so for less than $55 I got 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of jeans, and 2 shirts! The jeans were originally $50 each, the shorts were orig. $35 each. Thrilled! Thanks Kathiep!

Well, this is technically from a few weeks ago, but I’m just enjoying the results today…

So I was garage saleing with my boyfriend and my mom when my boyfriend spotted a free bin with some broken electronics (“for parts”). He grabbed a laptop and a PSP and figured he would drop them off with our tech savvy friend and see if he could do anything with them.

I had given the laptop somewhere around an hour of charge with a universal power cord that I had for another computer and it took him less than that to find a (very simple) wiring problem. Long story short, I’m sitting here with a somewhat old but very nice laptop that was absolutely FREE. Though I am planning to take said friend out to lunch or send him a giftcard. :)
