I would beware of any company that sells steaks online and won’t reveal what grade they are, which they don’t. IMO you can get comparable quality and quantity for a lot less in your local supermarket. A lot of people say their quality has fallen dramatically in the last few years. There are also many strangely divided online reviews, some over the top with praise and others highly critical.

Thanks, Roshke, I was looking at that as a potential gift, but could not get over the effective price per pound! Would a big ole basket of Costco meats I bought myself be declasse? ;)

Personally, I don’t think too many people would like a huge basket of meat that they would have to eat, freeze or refrigerate. So many people have food storage issues, especially over the holidays and wouldn’t appreciate more stress about how to handle more perishables, IMHO.

On another topic, I’m very upset that I have NOT received any of my folding vases. Was able to reverse the charge on one of my credit cards but the gift card I used on the other claims I have NOT made a charge for $4 on that card, so I guess I will lose $4. Not THAT high a price for the lesson that SaveMore is not a company I want to deal with, but shucks, I thought it would be cool to get the vases. :(

Got seven v neck tee shirts for DD (to replace worn out ones) for $60 at Marshalls…on the clearance rack. Some were those nice UV sunprotection ones that retail for $30 or more!

I felt good because if I hadn’t found THOSE shirts…I was heading to GW.

Got flights for DD from Nor Cal to So Cal at winter break on SW for $35 one way!! Only wish I could get the same at Thanksgiving!! Think the offer ends soon…

Delta is having huge sales to many of the cities that Southwest will be serving when they initate service from Atlanta. Loving every minute of this!!

Alaska (Delta’s partner) is also having a one-day fare sale to/from certain destinations (earnings release related?). The route DH usually flies is on sale - yipee!

Saks 20% off “friends and family” sale is going on online and in stores, and Bloomies is doing the same thing today - 20% off for their card holders. Not that I buy much at Saks, but some clearance stuff was included in the sale. ;)

I stocked up on Jiff Peanut butter- the two-packs at Sam’s this morning. I heard/read PB is going to be going up in price by something like 40% in the next few weeks. I’t a quickly devoured staple in our house!

^^^Lord and Taylor also has the “friends and family” thing going on currently.

Southwest, Airtran and others are having simlar sales. Some matching prices from others. My FL trip was Delta from DCA so look at surrounding airports, too. We do have to go through Atlanta, but worth it for the reduced fare. Most prognosticators say it will not be this low again in this time period.
