Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Our store had 6 racks FULL of shirts, t-shirts, pants, shorts and jackets. Most items were marked 30% off retail with an additional 60% off. We never go to Gander Mountain either, but we stopped in looking for hand warmers and walked out with a whole lot more!

Wow, maybe I better make a detour out there! I love LIFE IS GOOD stuff!

And of course, North Face!

Sorry if I was confusing. Office DEPOT is the one that allows you to mail flat rate boxes at their store, NOT Office Max.

I was in Gander Mountain a couple of weeks ago by accident and mine was having the same sale. They also had a lot of Life is Good shirts. I purchased a nice Gander Mountain lightweight hooded pullover for myself and a t-shirt for DD that had a Moose on it (her nickname) for under $15. I should go back and see what else is on sale. The items didn’t ring up like that they had to manually take the 40% extra off so I was wondering of all orange tags were (in which case I should go back and buy my DS a new Carhartt that was marked down).

Mixbook has a special on holiday cards
I know it’s very early but if you already have a photo you’ll be using it’s a good deal. Seventy-five cards for $39 with free shipping. You must choose budget shipping (which who doesn’t have the time to wait right now?!) and choose ‘classic card stock’. This applies to 5x7 flat. The code is MIXCARD70 . They are very customizable and have a lot of variety IMHO. We have not used the co. before so are crossing fingers for a decent outcome! This is good through 10/28.

LL Bean has a 20% off sale on their basic goose down jackets, parkas, and vests through Oct 27th.

I just got one of the men’s jackets ($63 on sale). Nice medium weight goose down, weighs practially nothing. Really nice jacket. Down is not ideal for heavy rain or snow storms, but it’s great as a general purpose cold weather jacket because it weighs nothing.

For mens or womens regular sizes, vests on sale at $47, jackets at $63, hooded parkas at $79. It would be hard to beat these prices even at Marshalls. Bean’s quality is fantastic, all sizes and colors are availble. They fit generously. The MEDIUM jacket I bought is plenty big enough to wear over a sweater for fleece layer.

A big shout out to Zappos. I was shopping for golf balls for a gift and Zappos was one of many companies which showed up. I’ve always had great luck with their free shipping arriving in one day, so chose them over other options based on the 1 day included shipping.

When I added them to my cart, it showed free ground shipping, not next day. I called to ask about it and was immediately upgraded to VIP status and had great assistance. Then the product I ordered turned up our of stock an hour later and I had to upgrade to a different item, they gave me 50% off the increase amount.

I was very impressed with their service & free UPS overnight shipping.

If you’ve got time to be around a computer today 1SaleADay has sell-offs going on all day - a new product at low prices every 30 minutes - fun to see what comes up!

I personally have made 2 purchases off this website in the past with fairly quick delivery and no problems with the products - a refurbished Nook (around $80) and a refurbished TomTom (nice model, $60).

I got a pair of Clarks Black leather May Poppy shoes
$75 at the Clarks store
and online. I got them for $35 at Marshalls. They are REALLY comfortable and very light weight. I might just take them on my trip with me. I feel like I got a GREAT deal.

Was picking up a couple of things at Walmart today when I spotted this one-cup coffee maker on a clearance shelf - it came with 18 pods. Figured I could use it at work since no once else makes coffee there and I enjoy one cup in the morning to sip as I work.

Mine on clearance w/ the pods - $9!!! (wish I would have picked up the 2nd one they had - surely someone could use it!)

A local nursery had their chrysanthemum’s on final sale today. $1 each for huge hardy mums! I got three. I’ll stick 'em in the ground tomorrow. If they come up next year, it will be great and if not I’ve got some extra color for a couple of weeks! Good deal on the Clarks thumper! They are my very favorite shoe brand!

Went to another of the free movie screenings tonight. Saw “Tower Heist” (Ben Stiller/Edie Murphy). Was funny, in a “leave your brain in the car” kind of way.

Great deal for personalized cards. I just ordered 20 photo thank you cards and 10 personalized cards for $11.

FYI, I learned that this little machine does not work like a full blown Senseo coffee maker that relies on pressured water to extract coffee flavor. It is a drip system that happens to use Senseo pods. Do not judge the Senseo pods based on what you will get out of this unit. It probably works better for tea bags.

Well, so far so good for me and the Senseo pods. I had a cup yesterday and no complaints. I’m a casual coffee drinker so this will do for the couple times a week I use it at work. But good tip, cause I usually drink tea the other days so I will try a tea bag in it as well!

cartera, that site has some creatively named clothes: Daytrader Skirt, Enlightened Boyfriend shorts, Inactive Duty tee - I actually like the skirt, but I *do not need *more skirts!

The one that got away: This morning I was just blocks away when the twenty dollars in free gasoline giveaway (Discovery Channel/Goldrush) started at the local Shell station. I didn’t know about it, but did manage to avoid the resulting traffic snarl. Friends merely dropping someone off at the Montrose blue line were stuck for forty minutes. It was announced on TV and scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 am, but may have been shortened by the police unraveling the traffic.

Ohhh, I would have loved twenty dollars in gasoline!

OK
some may not view this as a “good buy”. I’ve wanted a Brighton leather purse for some time but was NOT going to spend $250 or more on one. Went to one of my favorite consignment stores
they had two
a red one for $140 and a black/brown one for $120. I whined
just a tad
and they sold me BOTH for $120. They are like new
seriously don’t look like they were ever used. I love them!!

I think that’s a pretty good buy! ^^^^ GOOD whining!!! :)
