Awesome deal, thumper!

Great Thumper. Now you have that brown one to carry your iPad around in luxury. :)

Hi Xiggi!!! Long time no see…well, my fault really. Been busy getting the boy settled into his first apartment (bought his furniture on craig’s list!) and he started med school! Middle daughter is engaged and youngest is now a souz chef in a great kitchen…

Love this thread…

Kat

That’s not whining, it’s negotiating. ;)

The one purse is a Brighton Millie. I don’t think it’s made any more but when you read about them, they are one of the most sought after bags Brighton has made.

I have no idea what the red one is…but I like it.

I think the woman at the shop was happy to see these off off her shelf. In another two weeks, the price would have automatically gone to 1/2 price for them. My gut is NO ONE was going to pay her what she had marked. Anyway…glad I asked…ok “negotiated”…not whined.

Ooh, jealous! I had my eye on a beautiful bucket style Brighton purse 7 or 8 years ago. I dropped several not too subtle hints before Mother’s Day, but no luck. My birthday is a week or so after Mother’s Day, so I increased my not so subtle hinting, to no avail. Went to buy it for myself after my birthday and they were sold out! My best friend got the same exact bag that I wanted and I still get a little green when I see it.

I’ve been trying to find an online picture of the Brighton Millie…but no success…lots of descriptions…no pics.

Is this it?

Yes that is it…but mine shows not one sign of ever being used…it’s in outstanding condition.

You guys are reminding me of the new show - “Fashion Hunters.” On the last show, they had to authenticate a couple of Chanel purses so they brought in a Chanel expert. Interesting tips on how to tell if a piece is authentic. One was fake; one was not.

I know how to find a fake Brighton…and a fake Coach…beyond that…I’m hopeless.

thumper, I learned A LOT about fake vs real Gucci bags after my last Christmas purchase from Bluefly. Let’s say, the bag did not smell right, which made me go to Nordie’s and check the same bag in their Gucci section. The fake was good, but not perfect, so back to Bluefly it went! Maybe we both need to be on the show. ;)

Here is a piece from NY Times that supports my theory that it really pays to shop around, even when shopping discounters:

Hello Kat. I am always thrilled to read about the successes of the kittens. It seems like yesterday that we could read about how High School football and the future doctor exploits.

PS Sorry for derailing the best buy of the day thread for a bit. Still hoping to read about 50 percent off on lift tickets and snowboarding gear. :)

So happy!
I was very frustrated trying to figure out a one way car rental price I could stomach and was getting very frustrated. Finally decided to break the rental up & do 3 days in one city & then return the car to the same company & do one day one-way. Saves us about $200 by breaking the rental up! We can do this! The total car rental will be now under $250 instead of $450+.

Had forgotten about this way of reducing the cost until I read about it just now & remember that I did something similar when we drove from South Dakota to Yellowstone.
