Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I was looking on their site last night. Nice options. How do you select the option to remove the pocket?

^ You go to the Brooks Bros website and then select “design your own shirt” and then I believe it’s in the “Select your fit” option that you can choose pocket on right, left, or no pocket. Our son does not like a pocket and he gets the super slim cut. My DH couldn’t live without a pocket and gets the slim cut.

That’s about all we ever get at Brooks Brothers. The pants just don’t work for my guys.

Better than a “good buy”–I need a navy blue dress for my son’s wedding and wasn’t happy with the choices in the stores (though there’s still time to look some more). My friend said, “I have a navy dress from my daughter’s wedding that I have no use for anymore.” It’s MY size! It’s beautiful! It’s perfect!

I have to do something really nice for her now
:)

Buckyball sets are half off today on Groupon. These are sets of tiny magnets that are a great fiddly-type desk toy. I wanted a set for me, figured I’d buy the 5 maximum so I could send one to D1 in a care package (D2 already has a set) and keep the others as hostess presents.

A Good Friend is much better than a Good Buy. Congrats on having both mommusic!

Best wishes to the bride and groom!

Your posts made me smile mommusic and Mom2M! Where is that thumbs up button??

Banana Republc amazing purchase today.

Walked into our local Banana Republic this morning because I noticed a new sale sign–additional 40% off clearance items until 1:00pm. I went to the sale area in the back of the store and noticed one lonely pair of Emerson cut Chino’s hanging on the clearance rack. Amazingly, it was my older son’s size. This cut fits him perfectly so I quickly grabbed them. They retail for $59.50 and were on clearance for $20.99. The woman rang up the sale and the final price was a whopping $13.17 including tax. SCORE!

[Emerson vintage straight chino | Banana Republic](<a href=“Banana Republic”>Banana Republic)
^here they are on their website. I purchased the sale dark olive color (32 X 32). I recommend purchasing one size bigger in the waist in this cut–at least that’s how they fit my sons).

nysmile, I have found, with my daughter, our Banana Republic outlet to be full of great buys if you hit it right. We have found very stylish sweatshirts (starting at 55.00 which I think was overpriced) for 12.00 after discounts, and they washed well (no shrinking) I found for my daughter, the classic wrap-around dress for 15.00, a deep discount from regular price on a weekend clearance and even a nice belt for 10.00 selling much higher at the J Crew a few doors down.
I’m glad you found those, my son is a 30/32 and I would have been thrilled to find his size for that price!

Did a big shopping at Loehmann’s today. Sample of one of the things I got: Tahari linen dress and matching jacket. List price $188 each. My price: $40.99 each. Bought 6 things (including pants, sweater, two-piece beautiful evening top which itself cost only $11.99, etc) - total : $163. And today is a tax holiday. No tax paid. Receipt says I saved $472 total off of list price (which of course I’d never pay.) :D

Yesterday, I bought Hollister and Ambercrombie and Fitch button up shirts for my son for $12.99.

I also got lucky at Banana Republic. Found a great pair of jeans for S, just the right cut and color. They were originally $89.50 and marked down to $49.99. I was happy. Then I remembered I had seen an email from them earlier in the week and was able to save 40% more. Final price was $29.99. That’s probably cheaper than Old Navy. :)

OfficeMax has Microsoft Office University 2010 on sale for $84.99 (regularly $99.99) through tomorrow. There is also a printable coupon for $5 off circulating as well. I prefer Microsoft Office University to Microsoft Office Student since it includes Publisher.

Ooooops. The shirts were at T.J.Maxx.

American Eagle jeans are $30 right now. While at the mall, D picked up a new bathing suit at Abercombie for $24
they are having add’l 40% off redline clearance.

I’ve only read the last few pages of this thread and see that posters share the bargains on new items, but
I bought 2 pieces of armetal from Good Will for $5.99 each! The salad bowl sells for $99 on sale in Macy’s and the chip and dip dish sells for $89.00 on sale as well. The items were in perfect condition.

ECmother
actually there are a number of us who share our Goodwill and/or consignment store finds! Keep reading
it’s a fun thread.

Thanks! I love to share news on bargains. In another lifetime, I was a travel agent and led groups abroad. Invariably, I was always the one member of the group who stopped at customs and my items were searched. Finally, I asked a customs official and he laughed and said that I “looked like a shopper”. Ha, ha.

I remember years ago, finding that I could get some pretty good sales online. I got accomplished at finding this on sale and then a 40% coupon and free shipping. There was a period years ago, when I did very well and it was close to the holiday’s. I heard my mailman as he walked away after dropping off another package that week, “You know some people actually go into stores to shop”
I mumbled a “Sorry” as I picked up my latest find, now it’s more common but I also think he’s retired. : )
Good finds in stores or online are always welcome.

I bought one of those body pillows with a zippered pillow case for $18. My son’s response:“What am I supposed to do with this?” the young male clerk said that he was getting one and when he rang up the price, he said that it would be today.

Maryland also has a tax holiday this week on clothing.

Debruns, I live pretty rurally and don’t really like shopping, so I do most of my shopping online. Whenever the UPS guy comes with a package, I thank him and he thanks me back! I guess I’m helping justify his job :)
