Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Thanks. Agree that the “sale” wasn’t such a sale unless someone really needed 4 suits/sportsjackets/outerwear. But getting 2 worked for him. I can’t recall when DH last bought a sportscoat, so its surely time for an update.

A boxer sale at Target. Boxer’s are surprisingly expensive and I got one of my son’s five pairs for $12! Three of them are flannel, but he’s in New England so I’m thinking that will be okay.

If anyone is buying china or dinnerware, Macy’s has a great sale. My pattern is 50% off, with an additional 15% off with the code “RED”, and free shipping if the order is over $100.

Husband bought a Michael Koors blazer at Macy’s yesterday for $102.00.

D who is visiting from Israel and on a tight budget outfitted her 3 year old son for the coming year from 1)our local thrift shop and 2)Once Upon a Child, an upscale resale shop. Prices were 49 cents to 5.00 for everything from shorts and pants to polo shirts and long sleeve shirts. And never-worn tennis shoes. :)

jym, Thanks, I didn’t know I could order in the store at Jos A Banks…that might be useful in the future.

Found a hotel I stayed in at Philadelphia and they have rooms available while I’ll be at a very busy convention. The price of my room is under $135/night and it’s less than 6 blocks to the convention center! The convention hotels are mostly sold out and some are double the price!

Kindle Fire owners… Open your Kindle Fire today and see the ad. for the new show “Monday Mornings” that premieres tonight on TNT…click on “watch the trailer”. After the trailer is over, a screen pops up offering a $5 credit to your Amazon account that’s good for a month.

PackMom, I opened my fire just now and there wasn’t an ad :frowning: Maybe there were just so many offers available.

kathiep, I found the offer on my Fire HD, but not on my regular fire.

Ahhh, I have the regular Fire. No more looking!

Okay, you all have been so savvy in the past, I am going to be bold and make a request.

Am in need of a hotel room in Washington, DC in early March for one night. Want to be as close to the Smithsonian museums as possible. If any one comes across a suitable groupon or other tip, please post!

Living Social has several DC hotel deals. Not sure if you have to subscribe to a certain region to see them or not.

I get offers for DC hotels all the time from Living Social, Groupon, this site - [SniqueAway and Travel Deals: Flights, Hotels, Vacations, Cruises, Local Deals | Travelzoo](http://www.sniqueaway.com/events/) I wonder if some offers are because I get Philadelphia deal offers and that’s a common trip from there. Last time we went we got a great deal through Priceline right on duPont Circle at a Hilton.

We stayed at the Phoenix Park Hotel, which was a nice walking distance for us from the hotel to the Mall and Smithsonian. It was also close to the train station,m where they had an inexpensive food court (we had our kids & another family with kids traveling with us & stayed a week). I got a good Hotwire buy as well on a different trip and once stayed at a very lovely, famous old hotel in DC, the Willard–it was about 75% off or something. We ate fabulous meals in their dining room!

A Starbucks “GOOD DEAL” today on Valentine’s…

V-Day  Buy a Vanilla Spice Latte, Mocha or Hot Chocolate & get one on us. Today 2-5pm.

Found this on another site so I won’t take credit  LL Bean rolling duffle on sale TODAY ONLY http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/63916?attrValue_0=Teal%20Aloha 50% off discontinued colors use WINTER10 extra 10% off plus use ebates for an additional 2%. I got the medium for $35.99.

That’s a good deal!!! Probably the medium is the largest that would qualify for carry-on requirements, right?

And just yesterday, I was scouring the LLBean site cause I had a $10 gift card that was expiring yesterday and another $10 earned one - drats! Wish that could have worked for today! (oh well, got a pair of running shorts instead…)

I called LL Bean customer service because I was on the fence between the medium and large. The large is too big as a carry on.

Also I read that this deal is only until 2pm EST

The LLBean website shows the regular medium duffel to meet carryon requirements but it doesn’t say that for the rolling medium duffel, even though the dimensions are the same. I wonder if the wheels make it too large for the overhead compartment?
