Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Just bought this for my chair-bound but adventure minded 85 year old Dad.
6 CD’s with ALL the National Geographic Magazine issues since 1886. $39 at Costco

I am not buying this myself, but the Flip Mino Video Cam is the best price that I have seen. It is on “Deal of the Day” right now.

For anyone in WA interested in men’s dress Ecco shoes, Kirkland Costco has piles and piles of them. Also, there are piles of Cole Haan dress shoes. Not a bad deal at $99/pair.

When going to Macys (great sales all week), print off the extra 15-20% coupon on their website.

I just bought a Magaschoni sweater dress at Marshall’s for $39.00. I had never heard of that brand before but I looked it up on line when I got home and saw that their sweaters start from over $100.00 (and go way up from there). It’s silk and cashmere. The original tag says $244.00. I feel good.

Please don’t tell me we are still in a recession. The $1000 Prada bags are almost all sold out at Ruelala this morning (in less than 2 hours!!!).

I found a perfect pair of dress pants at Nordstrom’s for about 1/3 of the sticker price. Did someone secretly take my body measurements and tailored them for my hard-to-find-pants-for butt? Unfortunately, the tailor overestimated my height  But a simple hemming job will do the trick.

Wow, $1000 would pay for ALL the bags and wallets I’ve ever owned in my life combined & leave extra money on the table!

The pilots have finally worked things out with the union after 3 years of struggle & will be getting a 19% raise!

BB - I was so tempted with those bags, it was with a lot of self restraint.

I looked briefly at those bags. Any pricetag with 4 digits before the decimal point is seriously out of my comfort zone. Heck, we didnt spend that much for our flat screen TV.

“When going to Macys (great sales all week), print off the extra 15-20% coupon on their website.”

I printed a bunch because it looked like it was maybe only for one item. Found what I was looking for (nice collared shirt for S by one of his favorite designers) ending up more than 1/2 off with discounts & coupon. Slipped one to a frustrated lady w/ expired coupons at the register next to me. Spread the cheer…

Went to Costco today and the Wii bundle at the store was $194.99 and the Wii fit plus was $85.99.

Our local TJMaxx had $ 100 Wolford evening tights for $20. DD will be very happy.

Kohl’s had $10 off $20 purchase stuck on the newspaper, I bought a picture frame (Holiday for a 4x6 picture, 60% off) 2 wick candle, Monopoly Deal card game (50%off), hairbands for DD (60%off) paid $12.58. DD and I will be going back today, she has some friends to buy for and I want to pick up some socks for DH–they are half off.

I went to Kohl’s yesterday also. I had a 30% off postcard. I bought my DD bras. They were buy one, get one free and then it was 30% off. I think they came out to 9.50 a piece.

I took D1 shopping for “interview clothes/shoes” yesterday. We went to Saks in NYC, tried on a beautiful Tahari suit. The rack said 40% off, but the suit was close to $500. We’ve been looking and she needed the suit soon, so I told her it would be her xmas present. We went to pay for it, I almost dropped dead when they said $150(the tag didn’t show further mark down). Then we went to Lord and Taylor for shoes. She found a pair of pumps originally $150, between mark downs, 20% special friends and families, and my 10% discount by using the L&T card, we got the shoes for $25.

Saks has a lot of merchandise they are trying to unload. I over heard some salespeople saying that most of them will be marked down 50% off after xmas.

first read - I thought this was TMI. then i realized you meant your darling daughter. LOL.

Oldfort, good for you and your daughter! I heard a news report stating that the snow really effected brick and mortar stores. The report said that one would be likely to find even deeper discounts now because the snow storm has left stores with too much inventory on hand.

JustAMom, thanks for clarifying. I had read it the same way.

oldfort, best of luck to your daughter. Do share the good news with us.

Garmin nuvi 255WT for $129 at Best Buy

I went to Kohl’s yesterday on a CCers suggestion. I bought a gift originally price $34.99 - marked down to $10.49. The cashier gave me a $10 off coupon. The gift cost me 50 cents!
