Lots of Christmas merchandise at Cost Plus was on sale, 50-70% off, and that included chocolates and glogg mixes
I stocked up on wrapping paper for next year, $1.50/big roll!

Harry and David has some nice half price/free shipping goodies on line now. (I think the Hickory Farms deal was a little later in January last year?)

I was in Nordstromās Rack at Mall of America on Monday and got a beautiful blazer (on sale for 17.99) and a beautiful sweater (on sale for 10.99). If thereās a Rack near you, check the clearance racks. ;)

Men in my family collectively got 2 wool suits and a tux for the price of the most expensive suit yesterday at Jos. A. Banks. All shirts/sweaters but one get one. Great savings.

Thanks, simba. Iāve spent the afternoon planning a summer trip to a national park and these will be essential! Never heard of Cost Plus, BB. Iāll have to check it out. Incidentally, happy new year and thanks to all who have shared great ideas, tips and advice in 2009 and years past.

I was looking for a good quality winter snow boots right after Thanksgiving. They are expensive (the one I was looking for is Bugaboots XTM, around US$120). But two days ago, I got a great deal at [Altrec.com - The North Face, Patagonia, Backpacks, Running Shoes, Camping Equipment, Oakley Sunglasses](http://www.altrec.com). After coupon 20% discount, I only paid US$88 !!! Free shipping of course. The coupon code is NEWYEAR, well, ends tonight.

A pair of cord pants for my son, last yearās stock, I paid US$14 at Sports Authority ! Ha Ha !

I bought a shirts at Coldwater Creek for $12, shipped so I donāt have to go to the mallāextra 70% off everything on their site today with code WKH7326. Might go back and shop for some gifts in their home/accessories sections, I didnāt have time to do it earlier.

I just bought Quicken 2010 for 50% off (price good through Jan. 4) from Intuit at [QuickenĀ® 2010 Personal Finance Software - Money Management, Personal Finances](http://quicken.intuit.com/lp/qkn10/qlp17.jsp?priorityCode=6298762157&cid=em_18568_025_002).

I went shopping with my husband today. First time in a long time since we are technically non-shoppers unless we go with the girls. Purchase a knife block for $1.64 from Sears with the help of my sister $20 free giftcard from Sears. Bought 2 nice casual shirts from Macyās for my husband(buy 1 and get 1 free) and received 20% discount on top of that. My husband bought a lot of nice shirts that are on sale from Nordstrom but they are so expensive that I donāt think they are bargain( like a $345 Armani shirt marked down to half-price). But Iām glad DH get to enjoy spending his hard earned money. He has to dress sharp for his job. Glad I donāt have to.

Got a refund of $150 change fee on each of my childrenās tickets on United Airlines when we re-routed their flights so they could see their aunt (who is recovering from chemotherapy) on their way home for Christmas break. Had to provide some paperwork & make several phone calls so that the refund will be issued in the form we prefer (e-voucher instead of credit back to the credit card initially used to purchase the tickets). The kids were happy to be able to visit with their aunt and we can use the vouchers to purchase ticketsāfor them to come home and/or visit their aunt again.

United suggested that we submit the paperwork so they could get the refund, since it was due to medical reasons.

Inspired by the non-stop HI travel ads on TV and in the local papers, I took a peek at airfares to HI. Alaska and Hawaiian Air seemed to be having a small unannounced air fare war going. My good buy of the day - two RT tickets to HI for less than the pice of a single pair of Manolos! Which means I will be walking on the beach in my old ratty shoes, but I will be walking on the beach! ![]()
Time to help HIMomās economy again :)

Our state thanks you for doing your patriotic duty, foregoing new shoes for a trip to our beautiful state!

HIMom, you are welcome
We make sure that all of our warm weather vacation $$$ are spent in your beautiful state instead of Mexico.

Almost a good buy of the day - Uggs on clearance at a large department storeās website. But by the time I got to the checkout, someone has snatched them out of my shopping basket. Grrrrr. I got mad at said store and did not buy a thing. Saved a lot!

D. has finally switched to buying textbooks on internet instead of college book store. What a huge diff.! She has bought new book for $60, while the same used book is $120 in her school book store. We have urged her before, but she has been relactant. She said now, that all she needed is ISDN. I strongly recommend not to wait until junior year, there is no reason! Wow, we have wasted many hundreds of $$.

Dealoz.com will search all online book websites using the ISBN for you. I have used this website for years and saved many many $s on textbooks.

^Thanks! Forwarded to my D. I do not know what website she used.
