I know! I donât think I would have spent $800 on it for this wedding since Iâm only MOGâs first cousin and itâs not important what I wear as long as itâs approprate for black tie wedding.

@oregon101 Iâm new here but saw your post, so I just had to reply. When pregnant with my daughter, I was super nervous and hired a doula, because I thought it would make me feel better. When I went into labor, I couldnât get any higher than a â2â for hours. At my docs advice, I told the doula to hold off for a while coming to the hospital, since the baby was taking her sweet time. The docs finally gave me pitocin (sp?) and my D seemed to come out in an instant. By the time the doula (who rushed) got to the hospital, she only had enough time to take some really wonderful pictures of my daughter entering the world. While I love the pictures, it certainly wasnât worth the $750 I paid her to be there. I think I would have paid much less for a professional photographer, ha!
For us, the transcendental meditation I learned to help me get through law school kicked in unbidden when I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable from the labor and allowed me to detach so I honestly felt no pain, as long as no one touched me. I just felt intense pressure.
I was very calm and was fine with just H trying to keep folks from touching me unless essential. This happened with both of our kids, so I only got a mild local anesthetic when the OB sewed me up (i didnât want anything but the OB insisted). A duela would have been wasted on me. For D (2nd child), the labor and delivery was so fast, my mom chided H when he got back to our place that H was supposed to stay until after the baby was born and H said, but baby WAS born!
Weâre heading to Seattle in September and I tracked Alaska Airlines until the flight there was at $93, then watched for another week until the flight back was at $107. So altogether $200 pp round trip San Diego - Seattle.

Silly little good deal today. Converted a bunch of soda bottle tops into two AMC movie tickets, 2 large popcorns (refillable!) and 2 large fountain drinks. Free is good.
I finally got my Penzey spices today. Iâm excited as I havenât tried the majority of them before.

Today, I cleaned up my calendar and lo and behold found two unused United e-certificates for $100 apiece toward a flight. Unfortunately, both had expired 4/2018.
I called the premier desk but they said they couldnât help and suggested writing to customer service. I wrote, attaching the expired certificates and they kindly said theyâd issue me new ones that will expire a year after the re-issue. Phew! Yay! We will need to be flying for a bunch of things this year and next year anyway.
@csfmap our daughter and son in law GOT that Penzey box as a wedding gift a few weeks ago. It was well received, and a really thoughtful gift!
Well, now have 8 unused United e-certificates (expiring May/June 2019)! Iâm sure theyâll be used up in no time with all the flying we and the kids do. I finally organized them in a spreadsheet. 
That way I hopefully wonât lose track of them again!

Bought a great pair of Todâs booties on sale at Nordstrom but they turned out half a size too big. Lucky me, one pair, in the right size, was available online - and the price went down even further! Keepers.
